Michele Hall and the entire Alvino family knew what they did was wrong. They should not be shown any leniency and should not be allowed any plea agreements.

It's shameful to our justice system that the parents of Anthony Alvino only had to pay a fine for their roles in concealing a crime, hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. They should be required to not only spend time in jail but also pay restitution to the Wineses, though no amount of money will ever replace their daughter.

Carlee Wines DIED and they, her murderers, want a slap on the wrist-- NO! NO! NO!

"and they, her murderers, want a slap on the wrist"

The killer was Alvino. He should've been the focus. He did get a slap on the wrist. But I wouldn't say "they". Only one person was responsible, Alvino.

What the heck is the point of an Alfred Doctrine? Pretty much its a free ride to a lesser sentence for a crime someone did commit.

The criminal here is Alvino. He hit the girl. He didn't stop. He didn't report it. Yes, Hall said "go, go," but we're all responsible for our own actions. Should she really go to prison just because she said "go, go" in the heat of the moment. Sounds vindictive to me. Honestly, the sentence seems very harsh. I would have expected this to be an AR granted.

just remember folks, it's not about this horrible crime that took the life of a young women that had her whole life ahead of her. Lady Justice no longer uses the scales to weigh the facts of cases anymore, she weighs who has the most cash.....American Justice the best money can buy......can you say O.J?

My heart goes out to the grieving family for they truly are dealing with not only a loss but an injustice as well....

So you think Ms. Hall, a PASSENGER in the car that struck Wines is a murderer? Youmust have a unique definition of the crime of murder.

Then we shouldn't charge any accomplices - not getaway drivers, drug dealer look outs, or people who lie to the police to help their friends? As far as I am concerned, she is an accessory to the crime, not just a passive observer.

She was an accessory to the crime. She new what happened, she didn't do anything to help, she urged the fleeing of the crime scene, and didn't report it to police after either.

Continue to appoint lenient judges and expect more of the same.

The Connecticut court system is lazy. Rather than conduct an investigation to determine the facts and therefore guilt, it, the court system, lowers the charges to a point where an easy conviction is garanteed.

Time to revamp the court system too allow more punishment for the guilty and less stress on the families and friends of those affected by the criminal element.

If she would of called the police or helped the girl, maybe she would of been alive, rather than leaving her for dead.

If only they had stopped and helped Carlee would have been an attempt to take responsibility for our actions. However, panic set in and they fled the scene. We will never know if they stopped Carlee would be alive today. As a parent, I cannot believe the parents did not encourage their son to take responsibility. As a parent of three former teenagers, who sometimes made mistakes, they need to take the responsibility. Their son killed someone, and was drunk to boot, and that alone constitutes the fact that they should of made him turn himself in. The poor parents of Carlee, God bless them!

The U.S. criminal justice system is a system of laws not justice.

Example, Alvino was sentenced 37 mos. in jail for killing a young woman. His parents got a slap on the wrist for trying to cover it up, and Hall will get a slap on the wrist for her part in the murder. Yes, that's what it was, murder with a motor vehicle.

Yet, a couple of years ago a Glastonbury dentist was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Does this make sense? Is that justice? The murder of a young woman doesn't seem to be worth much in the scheme of things, does it.

If this woman is let off "easy" it will further exacerbate the situation of the lack of Truth in our justice system. How can someone that so lacked decency be shown any leniency by the courts?
That woman lost her life to this incident. Her parents and family will not ever forget. They will live the rest of their life with the rememberance of these events. How these people treated the event with such a total lack of respect for anything or anybody.
Throw the book at them!

If Hall can leave a person critically injured in a heap on the road, what does that really say about her? She has blood on her hands and tried to wash them with the help of Alvino's parents (forget my opinion of their pitiful parenting). The may have all been forgiven if they just told the truth. Now, the stigma of being liars, cheaters, and killers is just a few things they'll carry to their graves. Shame Shame on each and every one of those involved. Prayers to Carlee's family !

I do feel Hall should serve jail time for her part in this tragic event. With that said, I still think all four people in the vehicle that night should have been charged. It would seem that the two friends in the back seat were not charged because they provided the police with the necessary facts. Still, all four were present at the time of the accident, probably all four had been drinking and most importantly, all four chose not to come forward the next day and each and every day after that.
My heart goes out to the Wines family for all they must continue to endure.
