I get chills just thinking about it.
I think the rest of the country might be surprized at the conversations of the average working people which carrys over to local radio talk shows that have no fears of repercussions and speak their minds with emphasis.....It irks me when someone on here starts running their mouth and knows nothing about us or what we think or do.

As much as I hate saying this, I wouldn't be surprised at anything our politicians are up to. They like to claim that they are only looking out for the citizens, but I feel like they are only out for themselves and the citizens be damned.
Very true!

Well, just remember. When they are picking on us Texans, they're giving someone else a breather. When the time comes to pay up, and it will, they will be stuttering all over themselves.

A good example will be Dallas. It got tore up last night. Watch and see how long it takes for them to get it back together, and without a bunch of snivelling. Sure, the politicians will whine, but the people wont. They will pull it together and make things happen. They aint going anywhere......Look at the fires last year. I am sitting right in the middle of where they were. Yours in Bastrop was major. We all picked it up and did what we had to do and took care of the people who lost their homes, etc. The people here that actually do real work and live here are survivors. We have our share of government moochers, but I aint talking about them. They would bail with the libs. Whatever happens with the rest of the country, if we decide to go it alone, we will survive.

We will survive as long as we kick illegal Mexico back behind its border. Either that, or don't give leeching illegals a damn thing. They'll run back over the border by themselves, then.

I think they'd bail with the libs when the feds cut their funding. There would be a major attitude change.

You're right! And the folks in Bastrop are getting it done in spite of the government screwing them up on a daily basis. I see where ther are folks from New Orleans because of Katrina, still walking the streets of Texas because of the same government in Washington. Nothing changes with D.C.

I saw that Rick did his fly-over and said a few words for the victims. That's ok, that politics. But when he starts talking about getting federal money he makes my head hurt. We dont need their stinking trailers. I heard all those trailers from Katrina were given to Mexico...New Orleans is getting back together, but we still have their thugs walking our streets and over crowding our jails. I bet we wont have many bailing out of Dallas over a couple of storms. I know what's been happening after our fires. I haven't heard of anyone leaving or getting a federal trailer. Even most of our poorest have more class than that. Anoth reason why we would make it on own.

I had a friend from Bastrop tell all about those FEMA trailers. If there was anything to what I heard, the Fed will be getting health claims for another 50 years. It will make Agent Orange pale in comparison.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Sagittarius

You're wearing rose-tinted glasses today, especially when you look at some of the special people in your life. Right now you only want to see their good points and you'll deliberately turn a blind eye to any faults that might be on show. If you can escape from the real world for a day with you-know-who you'll have a marvelously romantic and emotional time together. But do your best to come back to earth tomorrow.
