Once upon a time, there was a pop goddess named Madonna who ruled the radio airwaves and Billboard charts with her beyond-the-curve music.

Oh, boo-hoo, what a ridiculous, biased piece of dribble this is. Hard Candy's enormous success seems to go against your personal distaste, and your article shows absolutely no musical or cultural appreciation whatsoever. It's just a Madonna hater dribble - I hope they didn't pay you much for it. The only thing out of Vogue here is... um.... you.

You are a bigot/ a second rate columnist and just jealous of Madonna. Once a goddess always a goddess. With hard With Hard Candy, Madonna delivers exactly what we(her fans) have waited for and wanted from her for years. Her album is brilliant.

She has a great voice. I mean who is byounce? Madonna gave us Papa Don't Preach. byounce voice and songs have never even come close. And they never looked Better than Madonna does now.

Indeed. I agree with you Aaron.

Madonna's musical and cultural contributions are unmatched by any standard. And she still has plenty of Vogue left in her.

With Hard Candy Madonna delivers exactly what we the admirers have waited for years. The album is dripping with hot tracks.

This thread gives its hatful self all on its own. That Goddess is still alive and kicking. It is still producing hits and multimillion selling international hits. It still graces the cover of magazines. It still is a name brand.

Once a goddess always a goddess. Goddess does not fade regardless of what the second rate news/opinions say.

Madonna is still the ultimate material girl. Her record sales, earnings and contracts are proof of that.

Not to mention the biggest selling tour in just 5 months.

They all add up to make Madonna the ultimate Material girl.

Nobody is Madonna. There is only one Madonna. Her voice is as hot and energising as her body on her album cover.

Where is Baltimore any way. I don’t see it on the map.

Madonna is NewYork, Montreal, Paris and London, Toronto and San Francisco, Sydney and Tokyo, Berlin and Barcelona, Amsterdam and Rome,,,,.

Madonna tops our lists.

Who cares about what the duddy back wards balitmore sun thinks or writes?

By the way, with Hard Candy Madonna does nobody but herself. She brings Holiday right into 21st century. The rest are just Madonna wannabees.

Umm, I've heard this same argument for what, the past 20 years? Madonna's over, she's not relevant, she's unoriginal....blah blah blah. All the while she continues with great success and record breaking albums.

My guess is that they will be writing the same things for the next 20 years.

I agree with you.
Those so called balitiomre sun “divas” are nothing but Madonna wannabees. According to the person who has had them all(Justin Timberlake) they are not her and they will never be her, because “there is only ONE Madonna”.
I think the Baltimore sun gives its own bias and prejudices against Madonna away, by using Madonna’s age against her. The fact is that 1- Madonna has continued to produce hits all these years. 2- Madonna’s voice carried the hits not the other way around. 3- She came out of club culture. Club Dance floor is her musical home. All other artists named in that article came after Madonna and are Madonna wannabees who try to steel her crown. They may have had some hits but they are not Madonna and they‘ll never be her. They are the ones who wear Madonna lingerie and copy her sound and act. 4- With Hard Candy Madonna has firmly and UNAPOLOGETIC come back to her funky club roots. 5- It is not illegal to work with other artist to produce great albums. 6- This collaboration works for Madonna. All the artist who have collaborated with her on this album recognize, appreciate and respect her MaDjesty. They give her great beat to ride on while the real synthesizer is Madonna’s voice which makes the songs fly.
Madonna’s albums speak for themselves. They stand out, far and above.
I have waited for this Madonna album for 22years.

Can anybody tell me where is the backward baltimore sun? They need to go back to school, to learn their own trade first before criticizing Madonna.

The new album, infused with endless energy, catchy lyrics and addictive beats, is amazing. This article, however, is unoriginal, and tired. It's the same old clueless, hater bs that's been thrown against the queen of pop since the beginning of her career.

Oh, the horror!!! Wait until her daughter grows up and sees the sex book. She (Madonna) should hang her head in shame...Oh, I forgot, she doesn't have any.
