How many plants does Quebecor have just in the U.S.? What would you guys consider to be the top 3-5 that might go down the drain? I work in the St. Cloud , Minnesota plant. We havent heard anything from MGMT.

Yeah, I kind of figured that. But I was wondering if any plants were more obvious than others to go. Ones that are underperforming or for other reasons.

They were shutting all the union plants down when P.K. was in charge. Now I think they will be going after the bottom line in the future. However,I would save some extra cash no matter where you are at or how profitable your division is at this time. You never know what the bean counters may be looking at down the road.

Yes, not matter how bad I want to take my federal rebate check and spent it on something fun, I realize I will need to tuck it away, just in case. I thought about looking for a different job and getting out now. But I am making a good wage and figured I will ride it out.

Here in Atglen we have been exceptionly busy pulling in work.As for shutting down union plants I tend to think its been the ones not producing could be wrong.I do know some of the plants that entered negotiations before us are still without a contract as they were trying to implement our Seniority rights and what not but are still without a contract. Our moral here is low also, out in the offset area the guys tell us their equipment is in dire need of repair but are doing a fairly good job with what they have

I was at Quebecor Elk Grove Village IL. We had a two month notice till the doors closed. They claimed that we weren't making enough money. You can't tell me that 3 Sunday presses and 2 G14's weren't making them any money. Bottom line is they don't wanna pay Union wages. For example, they want to pay 2nd men 17-18 per/hr, not $30
