Group: Cows being mistreated at stockyards

Sick and injured cows in Clovis that were being prepped for slaughter have been caught on undercover video.

I believe the abuse is not just there but all around. They just got caught. All you have to do is go from dairy to dairy and see the abuse, such as baby calves thrown in pits and ditches, with forklifts. Nothing wrong with them just no use to the dairy.

How reassuring that State officials claim that "downed animals are never allowed to enter into the food supply." That is exactly what the owner of the slaughterhouse in California said in January after downed cows at his facility were abused in order to get them to the slaughtering line -- that is, until Congress subpoenaed him to testify and made him watch the video showing sick and injured animals being shocked, dragged, rolled and otherwise forced into the kill chutes. He changed his tune on the spot. Makes you wonder if the State officials cited in this report really have any clue.
