Another 3D printer that is great in schools is 2bot's modelmaker [] . It is great for any subject. It works with programs such as CAD and google sketchup. The materials are so inexpensive that most models cost under $5.
If you are a teacher looking into 3d model makers, then I would highly recommend the 2bot modelmaker.
