UAW workers don't need resumes--yet! Again, most are educated and had other careers before AAM--right now it is wait and see the buyouts, buydowns, then proceed to the resume or go back to what the degree is in--walk before you run!!!
Oh ya, keep all options open--already been offered a job in his degree career but needs to stay out until the strike is over--too much time has been invested. Its not crying, its called sending a message to corporate america--keep the jobs here!! Oh anyone know why we have such an immigration problem with all the plants in Mexico??? They are coming here to work?? Is it because we love our freedoms and they want to be part of it?? or perhaps we make a better product because UAW workers are consciencious, intelligent workers--my suburban had over 260,000 miles when I traded it in!!!!
The sad truth is:

1)"most are educated"...(some are educated)

2)"because UAW workers are consciencious, intelligent workers"...(that is highly disputed and proven by the outcome of the AAM strike)

3)"had other careers before AAM"...(I doubt it)

4)"UAW workers don't need resumes"...(they wouldn't know how to write one)

5)"Oh anyone know why we have such an immigration problem with all the plants in Mexico??? They are coming here to work??"...(UAW is giving up their jobs to the Mexicans, your jobs are up for grabs)

6)"my suburban had over 260,000 miles when I traded it in!!!!"..(A Toyota Tundra would still be under warranty and running)

Let's face it our troops shouldn't be in Iraq or Afganistan. Since there is no draft that was a decision they made thinking there would be no war, just college tuition. Then here comes the George W. agenda and they have to live with their right decisions and with their wrong ones. Personally I wouldn't allow my kids to fight in this war....it's pointless....being American has got nothing to do with this mess. Ask the parents who lost their kids....for what???
Wow Frankie for the first time we can agree on something. Right now I have a niece over there.

This has got to be the most entertaining forum I've ever seen. I feel like I'm watch Jerry Springer! Stop all your crying and get back to work or better yet, find another job like everyone else does. Ooops, I forgot, UAW workers don't have resumes, so you'll have to keep crying until you either get what you want or better yet, not have a job at all.
Huh the only ones I see crying in here are the Union haters. Why are you so hateful could not get a job with a Union Plant?

Judging by the time of the post, Frank likes to stay up late, get up late and lives and works to create posts. Must not been able to get a Union job--I cannot believe at his age he has never been shafted by Corporate America--What I see are most professionals are union - Medical, Educational, Municipal, Airline, Food (manfact. grocery stores & fast foods, construction) well paid manufacturing - Did I leave anyone out??? Oh, the passive generation that will take any job that are not self-employed (contract workers not included--they are contract not by choice!)

Doctors are not unionized

Lawyers are not unionized

Accountants, Bankers, Insurance Professionals are not unionized

Not all grocery stores are unionized - Budweys has on union store, one non-union. Thank goodness Wegmans is non-union.

Not all construction companies are unionized.

Nationwide, 88% of the working public are not unionized. It's only in this state do we see 25% union membership and think it is the norm.

Michigan Lady, I was responding to this part of Strikers Wife's post:

"What I see are most professionals are union - Medical, Educational, Municipal, Airline, Food (manfact. grocery stores & fast foods, construction) well paid manufacturing - Did I leave anyone out??? Oh, the passive generation that will take any job that are not self-employed (contract workers not included--they are contract not by choice!) "

So perhaps you need to practice what you preach "Lady". Oh, and I was making reference to some local businesses that one living in Niagara Falls would recognize, in case that was confusing you.

Not nasty...just truthfull
The interesting thing I have found in ALL the posts is the union workers want you to think like them or your lying and hateful. The people that don't believe the bull want you to see the the light and don't care if you don't. Like I said before the herd follows the lead cow over the cliff or into the slaughter house...you can't blame the farmer.
Everyone is welcome to have an opinion.

As for stikers wife she talks about insults but she's the first to dish them out...who cares.

"must not be able to get a union job"???? I had one and had to make the same as everyone else. If I took a union job now I would have to take a pay cut.

Here's another thing we agree on....if you want to be union that's OK..it's your choice and it's everyone else's choice if they don't want to be union. If I make more I earned it and shouldn't have to justify it, if your wages are being cut in half it's because you have to take what's dished out by the company to the herd. Believe me the union president doesn't have an 80K home....it's in the millions. Where did that money come from??? Guess???

Once again Michigan Lady goes back to the "jealous" quote. Is that all you have in your arsenal? I work as a non-union supervisor, over a union shop. Does that make me jealous? Used to be a teamster for years with UPS, does that make me jealous? I got tired of being pushed around by half witted morons with more senority. You see, that is the almighty union mentallity,"I have been here longer, so I know everything." Get back to work slicing meat in the deli and make my damn ham sandwich already. I am getting extremely hungry listening to the typical union whining! Sorry Frank, been way to busy listening to my regular union workers whine, did not have time to get in earlier.

Dam this is getting scary having a few things we can agree on.
What I have been saying is this... if they can do this to union workers, somewhere down the line they will do this to everyone. People can hate the unions all they want but it will not change the fact it will effect everyone sooner or later.
And as for categorizing all union workers as being lazy and low class is wrong. The majority of the people I know work there tail off and give the company 150%. CEO's of most companies don't give a rats ass about anyone other then themselves. As for companies shipping work to other countries does not benefit us the costumers. I have yet to see savings being past on to us the consumer. What this CEO's are doing is lining there pockets with more money.
What is happening here is to destroy the middle class. Soon you will only have rich and then the poor. People need to realize that united we stand and divided we fall. And you do not have to be union to stay united as a country. Frank there is nothing that is perfect or easy in this life.

Here we go again... you are just one hateful person and I can see the reason for that. You could not hold on to your job at UPS. Most likely you were shooting of you know it all mouth at UPS and you had to be but in place. Of course you are biter. Hold on a minute and I will picket my nose and I will picket my ass and I be making you that dam ham sandwich...hope you enjoy it try not to choke. The only whiner I see is you. Time to get over yourself.

Already work at one. If this one shuts down, I have a proven track record that I accomplished without anyones help.
Don't hate unions at all. I just don't like the fact that the union fights for the "working class" but at the same time, every strike hurts those who are the suppliers which can become 10's of thousands. It doesn't matter whether the suppliers are union or not, they still suffer when the big unions go on strike. Do you guys care? NOPE. You just care about yourselves.

And you live in NY??? If all the unions went on strike for 8 hours--the US would crippled, no medical, no fire or police, no education? Crawl out of that shell you are hiding in. If it was not for unions, Wegman's & Budways would not have deliveries from the teamsters--I think you will find banks pay the same as McDonald's and if you are self employed accountants, Insurance BROKERS,
small contracts--you would not have to be unionized. But large insurance (ie Blue Cross) are unionized--by the way, they are in Buffalo!
You forgot to mention Tops--they are unionized and pay more than Wegman's & Budways--now Call a Spade A Spade! You must be new to the area?

Just for 8 hours?... then some union people would go back and screw the others....plus let's face it they couldn't do it....keep dreaming of holding America hostage....never gonna happen.
What if a comet hit the earth? what if an earthquake cracked the planet? What if I picket my nose? What if? What if? What if? What if? What if? Come back from dreamland. What are you smokin" ???

2 union gals and 2 non-union guys go into a bar. The bartender aks "what will you have". The 2 non-union guys say we'll have 2 martinis and buy the bar. The 2 union gals say we'll have ham sandwiches, 2 beers and after the non-union guys buy the bar we'll picket it.
After 2 weeks of picketing one gal goes home and leaves the other to picket alone. Finally the 2 non-union guys invite her into their bar, give her ten beers, 10 ham sandwiches and screw her 10 times. All 3 live happily ever after as co-owners of the bar.
The other gal who went home is living a quiet life alone posting on the net about how great unions are.....the end....
ooooh.. I thought of something new !!!! I'm no longer at a loss for words....me funny like Michigan Lady.
