I think George Bush should have everyone in the United States on his charge card and be billed for anything over $1.99/gal for gas, untill the war ends, and oil companies drop the price back.

The tax payer will wind up paying Chryslers gas subsidy anyway, when it cries profit loss and possible bankruptcy.

What a joke-thats the sure fire cure for "Green" fuel economy. It makes me want to be from somewhere else:(

Let me know where those FREE trucks are, I want one.

If you are thinking of a gas hog for hauling, people are giving them away up north. You see low mileage trucks and SUVs for $2000 to $3000 sitting in people's front yards. With gas predicted to go to $7 a gallon, the price will drop to free.
It is hard to imagine America at $7 a gallon. I think that they will need to restrict the supply to get gas that high.
Time to dust off the motorcycle.

It's easy to conceptualize having no AUTO VEHICLES when you got no JOB to go to.

And "it's easy to conceptualize" why YOU don't have a job.

Word to the wise. If you buy a Durango, make sure you get 6 years worth of gas.

I'm not wasting my money on a piece of crap low fuel economy car...Maybe if they made electric cars 10 years ago when they COULD have controlled the market, I would buy one...Just watch "who killed the electric car" What GM, and the oil companies did in the 1990's will MAKE YOU SICK....

Gas at $2.99 won't convince me to buy any new car. When will GM start manufacturing the Volt?
I love GM cars and own 3 myself, but GM's management is stuck in Michigan and have no idea what is happening outside of their very rich circle of friends and managers that are nothing but yes men. This will probably never change, but GM will probably go down the tubes.

I believe the fine print says 'in lieu of other incentives'
I just bought a jeep with 2500 in rebates. I would have to give them up for the card.
I decided on the rebates.

first of all, their car drinks gas twice as much as other cars. sencondly, they have 5 times mechanical problems than any other cars.

Mr. Chrysler, please focus you ideal on improving gas milage and technologies

Why doesn't Dodge spend that money to create a fuel efficient car? What going to happen in three years if they don't? The government better not bail them out again.

Do you really think a Durango will be worth keeping after the warranty expires? NOT

I would not purchase a Dodge or Chrysler product ever anyway even if they gave me the gas for free. Apparently I am not alone.

But that said, this is insane; they are sending the wrong message. They are grasping at straws. Their days are numbered, I think. A couple of years ago, an economist predicted that one out of the big three would not be around by 2010. I always thought Chrysler would be the first one to disappear. Now I am sure.

I have chrysler 300M 2001 model, my average is 27 miles per gallon ( i don't drive faster than 85-90)
In the city it goes into 24 miles/gal on highway i push to 29 m/g.
I don't know why everyone complains about chrysler. I bought on auction for 16k ( it was 40k miles), now its 115K in less than 3 years and i took the car twice only for tune-up.

I guess all manufactures can make good and bad cars. Some get's lucky, some not. My wife has infinity M45 and that car cost much more in maintenance and repairs. Plus eats the gas like no tomorrow.

Hybrid cars even with the current price are still not justifying their price for about 4 years from purchase. Gas price is high but we we break down it probably few hundreds $ a season more. But the damn gas prices drove prices for food and other things more than 100%. That's what killing us.

Destroy the current oil refineries and build new ones for other alternative fuels.

Despite the massive poor economy of Brazil, they have no gas crisis due to the tremendous corrupt greed of oil refineries who post quarter profits of tens of billions.

Be assured.......... YOU are still paying for the gasoline.......... just not in the regular conventional way, but in a GIMMICKY way.
Chrysler is saying they will REIMBURSE for the DIFFERENCE in the cost of gasoline OVER $2.99 per gallon. And even at that, YOU have still paid for the amount you get REIMBURSED.
.
.
Uh -- not that I would buy a Chrysler, but did this person read the article? They said they would issue you a credit card and would charge you 2.99 /gallon that you purchase. They are paying the balance....although you should actually read your statement. Wondering if the person who wrote this comment even balances their check book or if they just swipe their little check card and through the receipt away..
