Has CenturyLink deployed fiber optic in Charlottesville, or is service mostly still slower DSL?
I'm currently paying $78/mo with Comcast for tv and internet (I use another voip provider for telephone).

Cable tv includes hbo/showtime/starz
Internet speed 20Mbps down / 4.5Mbps up

If CenturyLink is now anything like the awesome Verizon FIOS service I used to have, I'll switch.

Actually $78 is cheaper per month than CenturyLink's 1.5Mbps (not 'high speed') internet and DirectTV least expensive basic service bundle.

Do you pay for internet access? How much?

High speed is relative - if still dsl through flintstone wires, not exciting. If part of fiber optic infrastructure, yes ! Come in at half price of comcast and you got a deal. The future of streaming media will make a min. 12 mps mandatory. Seems like right now 24 mps is good enough. Satellite can't compete.

When will CenturyLink focus on Fluvanna County? There is no internet service available on Route 15 south of Zion Crossroads? There are areas further out than this in Albemarle County, not on a main road, and they get internet service first?! This makes absolutely no sense.

Centurylink has no FIOS in Charlottesville, nor have I been able to find any evidence that they will in the future. I was promised a snails pace of 6Mbps, I am lucky to get just under 1Mbps on the best days. Not even enough to stream Hulu's lowest quality videos.

Now a days the internet is the most desired thing and people tend to use it a lot. So it is necessary to have an internet connection and get updated with time.

Hasn't made it to all of Greene County yet and 2013 is almost 1/2 way.
