What I understand, this is just the begining to a number of lawsuits being brought to the table by current and former Lund employees, (brunswick should just reserve the court room for a couple months,) IMO- I think when this is all over Brunswick will wish they'd never heard of Lund Boats.

In this economy, it would have been prudent for Lunds/Brunswick to put employees, families and community first. What kind of salary cuts has management taken? How many of them have lost their medical coverage? Clearly, this is a company that has a mindset similar to Wall Street. What a shame that decent, hard-working Americans are subjected to this type of treatment. I applaud the workers for fighting back!! Go get 'em!!

Notice that I did not use my real name. I am not half the man that Jesus Christ was when he was persecuted then crucified. Small towns are great until their little click groups or relatives move into a position of power and start abusing the system and the employees of a reputable company. It is sad to see what has become of Lund. What upper management and especially Brunswick has done to this company. I hope no one tries to fool themselves or anyone else by thinking the economy or this lawsuit will be the reason that Lund will eventually close their doors. For the good people out there, I hope that I am wrong in my prediction.
Think about it! When owned by Genmar, Lund was not only their highest quality built aluminum boat, Lund made money for Genmar. Something that Brunswick has said that Lund has not done for their corporation. If this is true, then it is not the laborers fault, this would be the responsibilities of Lund management and more so, Brunswick suits! The chess game that Brunswick has played with Lund Boat Company should be illegal. I personally knew that Lund was on a path of destruction when Brunswick began telling Lunds trusted dealers that they would be forced to purchase accessories from other Brunswick companies to install on any Lund boat that they purchased or else they would no longer be a Lund dealer. This was nothing but a bully tactic. Lunds quality also suffered when Brunswick forced Lund to stop ordering a better quality product from a vendor if Brunswick owned a company that sold the same product but of lesser quality.
You have to wonder just how smart a college education can make someone! I wish the "good people" of Lund nothing but the best in these difficult times.

lets look at anoyher potentual lawsuit against lund. 144 people let go. almost all of these people were at top wage and 4 weeks of vacation, were on resticted hours, had at smoetime filed a claim for workcomp, and had worked for lund for 2o YEARS OR MORE, or had brought up safety concerns against lunds. does that look like TARGETING to you. you would think some good attorny firm would be all over this. but here is the best. the 19 people that brought vacation lawsuit against lund, 15 of those people werte let go.

I also like the headlines used here. "Former" Lund Workers File Lawsuit"!
This lawsuit was filed about 3 years ago when most of these employees were still employed by Lund. The few that weren't were retired or left on their own.
This forum should be passed to as many people in this area as possible. It makes me wonder why there isn't many comments posted here on this subject. Maybe it is the past scare tactics used at Lund Boat Company. Come on folks, share how you feel, don't let them scare you out of speaking your mind. Here is an assumption. Brunswick could have already decided to close Lunds doors for good. Maybe they are waiting until they lose this lawsuit so they can have one last shot at convincing the ignorant ones out there that it was this lawsuit that shut them down.
Don't be dumb asses folks! You have a brain so use it independently, don't let them do your thinking for you like they have done for so many years in your life.
After working for this company for many years and watching the way management can drag a good company down, I will never again find myself getting too comfortable in a job again!

Hello, I was let go from Lund/Brunswick back in November after 29 years 11 months, We were asked to submit safety suggestion and cost saveings ideas, that if implemented could result in pay increases or bonuses, I turned in a safety suggestion that I believed was somthing worth looking into. on June 16th myself and a fellow employee (He had 38 years with the company) met with one of Brunswicks enviromentalist. He questioned us about the chemical dumping that was done years earlier, We showed him the approxamate area where the trench was dug and told him of the many barrels of cleaning chemicals that were buried there.( I personaly never saw it done but my co-worker showed him the area) He Thanked us for this and said he would look into it,and keep us informed of what action would be taken. "Thats the last we heard from him" They took action alright. 5 months latter Myself and my coworker friend were relieved of our employment with the company. I guess it was cheaper to get rid of us than to dig up the contaminated soil. They asked for safety ideas but I guess they didn't like mine.

Just like politics (LOL) You people that know something and are not speaking, are giving up. Do you not see that, " As Hillary would say". " It takes a village"!(LOL).(I do find that funny)
If you have one or two saying something bad about Lund Boat Company, they label you and make you look like idiots. But if you have several with balls enough, you can break their cycle (the one that you have fallen for). Grab your nuts and stand up for what is right, no matter if it means your sister-n-law or "U" may be out of a job!!!
There are way too many big shots(Corporations) showing up here and if you sit back and continue to take it, then you will be finished for good!
Take a chance and do what is right.
Fight like your Great Grand Parents would have. In other words, don't be a PUSS! Oh, and you should know by now not to get too comfortable with the work you do. Because they will find you, make your life hell, and make you think that it is the whiners fault because you lost your job or you went out of business! GIVE ME A BREAK! DON'T BE THAT STUPID!!! College Grads know nothing about small town business, they are just trying to ruin it and make a profit!
Think about it. Mass production means more to them than Howard Lund!
Keep the comments coming!!!!

I cant tell you how much I agree with likeitis! I have noticed so many people they are afraid to voice their opinion because all they have or had was their job at lund. The people in charge at lund know this and take advantage. I hope that brunswick loses and they no longer have there doors opened. If that happens it will not be any ones fault but their own. And I would be sorry to see so many people leave this area. But Brunswick would have accomplished what they set out to do. Run lund out of business.

Well, the latest rumor is that as of today 25 more at Lund were laid off. It was also said that the powers that be didn't even have balls enough to do it face to face. I heard they told them over the PA system. What a bunch of stupid losers the management there is. Of coarse, this is rumor. Anyone familiar with Lund can attest to the fact that if you heard rumor at Lund it was either not true or the truth was stretched. If you heard it in any other town than New York Mills it was probably true. I heard this from a place other than N.Y. Mills.

If you search to the right on this screen you will be able to click on a link that is entitled "Brunswick Lays Off 115 Workers In Little Falls And New York Mills". They (Saint Cloud Times) mention in the article that back in July, Brunswick announced that they would be closing 4 of their plants but that they would not say which ones. That's a surprise huh? They also said that they contacted Brunswick to ask them about the Little Falls and N.Y. Mills layoffs. And guess what??? Brunswick never returned their calls.
It is amazing how big corporations can show up in a small community and destroy things in a hurry.
It is similar to the way our government has destroyed our economy. Oh but there is hope on the horizon. As soon as our government fully converts to Socialism and has full control, we should all be sitting pretty. What a joke our government and big Corporations have become.

LMAO, I guess we can see why Golund still works there and is proud. No attention to detail and doesn't know how to spell. So I wouldn't argue that if I were uneducated and didn't pay attention to detail, I would be proud to work anywhere. Let me help you with your spelling:
desperite- correct spelling- desperate
Attention to detail:
rumorhaasit- RumorHasIt would have been correct.
I would also advise Golund not to get too comfortable even if the rumor wasn't true. But due to the lack of attention to detail and the misspelled words, I would guess that Golund is in management!
