The study references 'school aged children', meaning they're gaining statistics based on primary disabilities listed on IEP's. It even goes further, "The parents’ reports of diagnoses weren’t substantiated through clinical evaluation or medical records, the authors wrote." An educational diagnosis is not the same as a medical diagnosis, nor is each states criteria the same.
