How about a link? Sure I can (and will) Google, but I can get all the rest of the information I want without reading the Dispatch, too. Newspapers like to complain about declining revenues, but they have only themselves to blame if they can't be bothered to provide readers with important information like this.

Eli Lilly has made $38 billion on Zyprexa and it was way oversold and caused diabetes and in some cases sudden death.
Eli Lilly has received a huge criminal fine over their Zyprexa cash cow,add it all up comes to $4.6 billion, in Zyprexa settlements, fines, litigation.

Addictive Zyprexa was pushed by Lilly Drug Reps.
They called it the "Five at Five" (5 mg at 5 pm to keep nursing home patients subdued and sleepy) and "VIVA ZYPREXA" (Zyprexa for everybody) campaigns to off label market Eli Lilly Zyprexa as a fix for unapproved usage.

Eli Lilly is 'reaping the whirlwind' for aggressive marketing of Zyprexa that has caused suffering and deaths.
There must be millions out there harmed by this drug.

I see Dana beat me to it while I was googling the info myself.

If you're going to post an online article about something found online, it seems irresponsible to not post the link(s) as well. That's a part of netiquette.

I think this is a good ideal, because this shows whether a Doctor is more interested in his or her pocketbook than the patients well being. I bet if you compare the prescriotions written with that companies product you will be able to show a pattern.

Would truly be amazing to see the amount the Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Company has paid out through the Johnson Foundation to doctors, researchers, so called non profits (like the American Cancer Society) to sell anti smoking bans to increase their 2 billion dollar a year market on smoking cessation drugs that have a 95% failure rate!

i just scanned the lists for eli lilly and merck and i was glad to see my current family doctor on there.it was a sad thing to see my former doctor on both.it is one thing for pharma to try using free samples through doctors or advertising, but paying doctors to "educate" is nothing more than a bribe and everyone knows it.

I personally believe this is why every time you see a different doctor to treat the same disease, they each have their own "coctail" to perscribe to treat you, each being different. I do not trust any of them, I feel there are very few doctors out there that are genuinely interested in a persons well being. They will do whatever is necessary for the almighty dollar. Including over book their appts so that the wait time is out of this world in their offices.

Hmmmmmm..time is money...MY time is money...maybe everyone should start billing for their time spent in ways such as this!!!

the drug company and the Dr. should be brought up on charges! this is called bribery and it is illegal not only to bribe but to take bribes. This is not a new practice many drug companies spend more on lunches, gifts ,trips, etc than they do on research development and advertising combined.
Here is one of the reasons drugs are so expensive. and a great way to bypass this is PREVENTION eat right, exercise, and decrease your stress will help you avoid overpriced drugs whose side effects are often worse than the symptom they are treating.

This only solidifies my belief that health care in Ohio is a HUGE JOKE.

Here in Ohio, our 3rd rate medical care is run by MBA's at the HMO's and BIG PHARMA Execs. You can have good health insurance but unless you're visiting the Cleveland Clinic, you're being shuffled around like an unwanted commodity.

Luckily, I have a doctor that actually cares about the health of her patients. She doesn't trust the pharmaceutical companies or their interference w/medical practices. Luckily, there are some docs out there more concerned about practicing actual medicine than making money or shooting silver bullets at disease (pills).

You are correct. Do the math. That is about $275 per talk. Each talk is going to take about 3 hours or more, including travel. All other businesses work this way...taking clients to dinner, golf, meetings, small gifts, etc. It is human nature. Go ahead, pay the doctors less and less....there will be more and more pressure to see more and more patients. Next time anyone goes to the doctor make sure you have only one problem because the doc will only have time to address that. Don't ask her about anything else! Be careful for what you ask!

You know for 2 years I cared for a terminal loved-one who was in serious pain. Do you have any idea how much of a pain (no pun intended) It was to get pain medication for this person? You cannot have refills, you cannot have the scripts called in, had to pay for hospice service to deliver them every week. It's absurd! All that inconvenience just so a few junkies don't get high. If poeple want to kill themselves with drug abuse, I say let them! Don't make genuinely sick people suffer just so a bunch of losers don't get high.

Patients need all the information they can get and I'm all for it. I do believe the physicians should have an area where he or she can enter outcomes, how often drugs are prescribed and for what condition. Information posted should never be one-sided.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Scorpio

There are problems concerning money today, especially if someone thinks they aren't getting their fair share of it. Mars turns retrograde in your house of public matters, so issues from the pat will need to be dealt with in weeks to come. Sort things out quickly, before they become even more fraught.
