Actos is produced by Takeda Industries and co-marketed by Eli Lilly.
Eli Lilly Zyprexa can *cause* diabetes.
I took Zyprexa a powerful Lilly schizophrenic drug for 4 years it was prescribed to me off-label for post traumatic stress disorder was ineffective costly and gave me diabetes.
Eli Lilly's #1 cash cow Zyprexa drug sale $40 billion dollars so far,has a ten times greater risk of causing type 2 diabetes over the non-user of Zyprexa. So,here we have a conflict of interest that this same company Eli Lilly also is a big profiteer of diabetes treatment.
(Actos works as an insulin *sensitizer*)
Sooooo,Eli Lilly pushes a drug (Zyprexa) that can cause diabetes.... then turn around sell you the drugs (Actos) to treat the diabetes that in turn can cause cancer!
What a terrible conflict of interest!

I took Celexa for 3 years. I often wonder if that was the source of my type 2 problem.
I can't afford Actos the brand name at $8 per pill, so I order and take the generic version ( not available in the US) order thru an Canadaian pharmacy; $1 per pill.

It is becoming apparent that the manufacturer is more interested in raising its profits that protecting its consumers. Not only is Actos said to cause bladder cancer but it also could cause congestive heart failure among its users. http://www.rotlaw.com/actos/

Actos is well known worldwide to effectively treat Type 2 diabetes. To result in fatal injuries like bladder cancer or heart failure is a clear disadvantage of this drug. There are thousands of Actos lawsuits filed against its manufacturers; however physicians still continue to prescribe the drug despite major risks. http://www.rotlaw.com/actos/

I have researched and read the report that has started this whole mess with Actos. The increase in occurance of bladder cancer was insignificate; like 3 in 10000 to 9 in 10000. Not enough to warrant the problems caused by high BS from not taking the drug. I'll take my chances with Actos as the drug is very effective in controling my BS.

After the Avandia Scare, many people switched to Actos. Now, people who thought they were keeping themselves safe are findind out they may have been doing more harm than good. It's unfortunate. I work for a firm that has been investigating these instances of bladder cancer. http://www.anapolschwartz.com/practices/actos...

I think any Type 2 diabetes patient that has taken Actos and have developed bladder cancer or have had heart problems should file a Actos lawsuit for compensation. http://actoslawsuitsettlement2012.com
We can help victims with their Actos lawsuit and we do it on contingency so you only pay if we can get you a compensation from the manufacture
