The human brain has a most effective ability to adapt to everyday ambient conditions ranging from people who live in abject poverty to the rest of us who lead a more or less trouble free life. However, going well beyond the average life style, there are a few people who, mostly by chance, become wealthy/ important/ powerful beyond belief to the extent that their brain can go into an incredible euphoric and omnipotent state.
Please believe me that, until you have personally experienced this incredible state of mind, it is impossible for ordinary people to imaging that this condition even exists. Which is why it is so dangerous. The effect ion the person is awesome in that the brain goes into such a euphoric state that self belief overrides any consideration for others. Common sense is obliterated. It is such a pleasant and anxiety free state of mind that the brain is quite unable to adapt back to normal life.
When this person is in charge of a bank the results are only to we'll known. The desperate thing is that the person involved will have no concept that his brain has ceased to work in a conventional manner.
In my opinion the seriously excessive bankers bonus payments does an immense mount of harm by taking these people way out of the normal routine of life and making them liable to take the silliest of decisions.
