Ed's man claimed that they can invest the money in bonds and get a 12% return!

What a crock!

The only bonds that pay 12% are junk bonds!

Also, after 75 years of 3% inflation the income will only be worth 10% of the initial value. Nowhere near enough to do any good.

I'm sure Ed and his buddies are going to be well rewarded with million $ lobbyist jobs.

No because the price tag is too low. Yes, because it will be a better road and operated better.
If the average Turnpike workers making $12.00 /hr and the average non- state worker makes $18 /hr and the toll system is supposed to be the same how are the roads going to be maintained better? The only way for a private entity to maintain the same level of operation on the highways or turnpike and to make a profit is to increase the tolls drasticly.

Well according to these posts.. nearly 100% are not buying the line. Only goes to prove our government is out of touch and blatant about it as well.

If this gets past the legislture and our objections the only possible solution is to avoid if at all possible the toll booths. But then nobody sticks together in a boycott anymore for all so many excuses.

It's about money folks. That's the only thing that they understand. In order to do anything effective.. you got to chop it off at the $ bottom line$.

That's what works quickest and most effectivly!

I think Ed is just looking for another job. No kickbacks here baby. It's not 1975 anymore. Maybe after his life as a so-called sports announcer, and an up an coming actor(how about the tax breaks for the multi-billion dollar film industry), maybe he can start the"ED RENDELL SHOW".
I'm a democrat, but even I voted for Lynn Swann last election. Hey Ed, how's that gaming commission doing????

" A vote for me is a vote for corruption." Let's privatize SEPTA. Let's take away the privatization of certain prisons. Wake up Pa.!!!! Individuals are making millions off of your tax dollars to house inmates. Do you want to guess who they are?? They are your judges, and their affiliates. Many lawyers that you may or may not know.
