Hi Suzanne,
I saw your post on the topix Banking Forum.
Were you successful in the leasing of any bank instruments? If so, what was the issuing bank?
Who was your Receiving Bank? Was your Receiving Bank able to provide the necessary undertakings?
How were the fees structured for your particular transaction?
I am a broker and am continually looking at the competition.
Thank you in advance for reading my email and I hope to hear from you soon. Please feel free to ask me any and all questions.(BTW, I graduated from ASU).

Urgently need a US$ 50M BG/SBLC for a client. The procedure shall be as follows:
1. The provider shall issue a pre-advice to the receiving bank by SWIFT MT799 that it is ready to send the instrument by MT760
2. The receiving bank upon receipt, verification and authentication, shall issue an irrevocable, conditional MT103 confirming payment of lease fees.
3. The provider send the US$50M instrument by SWIFT MT760
4. The receiving bank shall release the payment upon receipt, verification and authentication of instrument.
5. The client will not pay any upfront fees and the receiving bank requires pre-advice before issuing the IBPO (MT103).

If you can provide the instrument, please post your contact info so that we can proceed promptly. Thanks.

im sorry, that payment structure will not work, nor is it fair. You can ask your client to go to a bank with that payment structure and unfortunately, it will be rejected immediately. On top of that, they want an SBLC for free. Are you kidding? I have seen too many of these deals and they do not work because the individuals involved do not understand how business is done. Quite frankly, I think your client is wasting your time.

Vinod,
You should carefully read the procedure. We are not getting the SBLC for free. The bank will issue the MT103 to the provider who proves its authenticity and capacity by issuing the pre-advice.
There are so many occasions where the providers cannot live up to their claims. The client and the bank shall pay promptly to a genuine supplier. The procedure outlined is no different from buying goods from any business: you select the goods(MT799), promise to pay / place PO (MT103), receive the goods (MT760) and pay (wire transfer).
