The trustee's objection also says American should be required to explain how its board determined that $20 million was the right amount for Horton, and to say whether independent directors approved of the payment...... I'm guessing "that's how we do things at AA" will not be an acceptable answer.. By the way those lifetime flight benefits are positive space First Class bumping full fare if booked early enough... But that IS common place in the industry. What do I personally think of TH and his severance?. I cannot answer due the AA social media policy.

He will get the $ after AA exits BK. He's not worried.

Just fire the guy for doing a bad job like you would with any other employee and let him collect unemployment at $500 a week max like I do.

The airline is still in business so who says he did a bad job? Could you keep a business open after ten years without earning a profit?

It is the lack of managerial skill that led to the lack of profit. These executives weren't the ones that were wise enough to keep it running. While AMR was floundering Horton was off at AT&T rebuilding it for sale and taking a huge payout to return to AA.. Only to head a BOD allowed coup d'état and take AMR BK as his first official duty. He then turned it around and let a smaller company take it over.
