Dendritic polymers as "the fourth class of new polymer materials", are attractive to the scientific world and industrial circles. The novelty of these materials includes highly branched molecular structure, a large number of surface functional groups, void space in molecules, monodisperse molecular weight distribution and nanoscale dimensions. The structural characteristics of dendritic polymers lead to unique properties such as excellent solubility and dispersion properties, low melt viscosity and solution viscosity, difficult to crystallize and easy to form film, showing unparalleled nano features.

Dendritic polymers can be used in many ways: dendritic polymers’s high functionality of end groups, such as hydroxyl, carboxyl and carboxylate salt, have strong adsorption capacity of pigment, showing good stability and dispersibility; what’s more, dendritic polymers being partially modified with long-chain fatty provide steric hindrance to prevent pigment molecules aggregating. Dendritic polymers can be used as novel dispersants by using the special viscosity behavior to prepare high solid coatings.
Excellent properties of dendritic polymers as pigment dispersants
· A large number of anchoring groups to increase the pigment dispersion and adhesion; steric effects make pigment stably dispersed;
· Good dispersion properties for organic and inorganic pigments; can prevent sedimentation and solve the problem of inorganic pigments floating;
· Modified dendritic polymers have certain extinction performance and no need to add matting agent, it can be well applied to semi-gloss top coatings and floating coatings of the car, and shows very good performance to prevent sagging. It can be used for industrial marine coatings, container coatings, outdoor steel thick film coatings;
· Good control of the pigments is favorable to control chromatic aberration among different batches and construction conditions.

Dendritic polymers have good solubility and carry positive charges in aqueous solution; they neutralize the droplets with negative charges in oily water, and are more stably adsorbed on the oil droplets due to its lipophilic carbon chains of organic polymer, thereby achieving the purpose of demulsification; dendritic polymers also can lower the viscosity of the system.

Demulsification Report of Liaohe Oilfield Produced Fluid

1、Summarization
Liaohe Oilfield is the 3rd largest oilfield in China, also the largest thickened oil (high viscosity heavy oil) production base. 70% of its production is thickened oil. It has thick oil layer, high reserve abundance, and large reserves. The proven geological reserves of thickened oil is 968Mt, the producing reserves is 665Mt. At the same time, Liaohe Oilfield is multiple reservoir types, difficult to exploit with most complex process.
In 2012, Liaohe Oilfield’s daily oily water production was l4.86×104 m3, including thickened oily water 8.41×104m3,thinned oily water 4.7×104m3,high pour-point oily water 1.75×104m3。The thickened oily water accounts for 56.6% of the total production. For the produced water reinjection rate, the thinned oily water and high pour-point oily water reached to nearly 100%, thickened oily water reached to only 22.3%, the average rate is 62%, far less than the required 98% of Petro China. The main reason is for the thickened oil, which has multi-component, similar density with water, serious emulsification, hard to deal with. So the treatment of a huge amount of thickened oily water becomes a serious economic and environmental problem for Liaohe Oilfield.
Factors which effect the thickened oily water treatment: many kinds of additives added in the process of oil production, which make the water oily, serious emulsification, multi-component, great fluctuation in quality; the thickened oil has high viscosity, high molecular complex substances, also buries shallow, usually hidden in the conglomerate. A large number of mineral compositions carried out during the exploitation, the high water hardness, the high impurity contents, all of theses factors enhance the difficulty of treatment. During the dewatering subsidence process, demulsifier was added into the oily water, which leads to stable emulsion. This emulsion has high oil content, high stability, high density, resulting in the high difficulty of oil removing and purification treatment.
The thickened oily water in this testing comes from Liaohe Oilfield. The oil content: 5.94g/L,pH=6.75 ,COD=15000. We choose several kinds of demulsifiers used cooperatively to achieve the best effects.

New Nylon Lubricant

High viscosity of nylon and nylon alloy will lead rough surface of products, lacking luster, streak appearance etc. CYD-PR121 is an excellent lubricant due to special spherical structure and low viscosity, endow nylon and nylon alloy with many good performance.

Applicable Performance
&#9733; Dendritic polymer CYD-PR121 is a good lubricant of polyamide (Nylon) due to its unique structure and physical property.

&#9733; Compared with traditional aids, CYD-PR121 with dosage of 0.2-1% can apparently enhance fluidity of melt and melt index was increased around 160%.
&#9733; Effectively solve the problem of rough surface, lacking luster, streak appearance etc.
&#9733; In process of mixing and plating, prevent polymers to stick on charging barrel, inhibit friction heat generation, reduce torque and load of mixing, and lower thermal degradation.
&#9733; Improve fluidity and reduce polymers stick on charging barrel and mould at extrusion molding step, prevent and decrease material detention.
&#9733; Not only lubricate melt material, but also improve mechanical strength, lower processing temperature, disperse glass fiber etc.
Applicable Fields
CYD-PR121 can be used for processing of different nylon and nylon alloy.
Usage
&#9733;&#61472;CYD-PR1 21 and PA should be dried at room temperature and 80&#8451; in vacuum condition for 5h and 12h respectively.(Please adjust drying time and temperature according to the material.).
&#9733;&#61472;Dosage should be adjusted according to requirement and performance during granulation or processing with PA resin, normally obvious improvement can be achieved by dosage of 0.2-1%.
&#9733;&#61472;PA modifier should be mixed uniformly with PA, especially when dosage is small, mixing time can be extended to achieve better performance.
&#9733;&#61472;Next process should be done according to the real condition and production process.

Nylon Compatibilizer
