Hey Mike!
We're just a minute from B.G.
I wondered if anyone from our area would post here.
What's the deal with such a massive turnover there?

At BGM in KY they just laid off 100 and more are expected we make 11.28-15.50 an hour to sweat our asses off and get treated like slaves. Now that everyone one is being threatened with lay off now people want a UNION. I wanted it 6 months ago when we had a vote date. But now its kinda pointless to try for a union. I will still vote YES but at what loses am I willing to give up? As far as taking a job there if you're offered...tell them to STICK IT! Wish I had done that.

I hadn't heard of these layoffs on WBKO news.
When did that happen?
I know at my husband's plant, GP, they tried the union vote about one year ago.
Didn't fly.

NPG here. We've recently been informed of the INTERNATIONAL UAW,of which we NO Longer belong, has RE-renegotiated our contract. This is ILLEGAL.
Plant gave in in April. Dropped from 30.00 hr to 20.16. Now told we need to vote on 16 hr -13 hr tiered system. Kicker? STILL has to be approved by Magnas Board before we can even VOTE on it. Pompous pcs o crp. We were told that Magna will offer their plants to the UAW if this agreement is ratified. Plant closure threatened. This smells sooo criminal. International has sold us down the river. Do NOT, and I can't stress this enough, DO NOT vote the UAW into your plant!!!!!!!!!! They take 2 hrs pay a month for nothing!!! They are leeches. They are in Magnas pocket!!!!

Magna came in for a visit today as a possible buyer. Would it be to our benefit if we were bought by Magna?

LexaMar in Boyne City Michigan laid off almost 100 the first week of September. Now Ken Adams, Charlie Sitka and other Magna corporate friends have been hanging around making reckless changes that have made us worse off than before in my opinion.

Adams told us they were not shutting us down but I am skeptical. Anyone hear of getting work from us in the near future?

I've been employed at what I thought for some time was a crappy run division of Magna. All I have to say to those who can say or find nothing good about working at Magna...LEAVE!! Its you ungrateful people who don't get it and stir the pot. Read the newspapers, watch the news and see how business is being smoked out there. And speak to your friends and family who would give their right arm to NOT work in a mall selling clothes for $8.00 an hour or have to pay cash to have thier teeth cleaned and get medication without and health coverage. NOBODY has job security....ANYWHERE. The economy is brutal and the unions have demolished the automotive industry in North America forcing companies to move to other countries or risk going out of business, THEN how many jobs would be lost, not just 10% of the work force but 100% of them, selfish on your part! Thats why the union (CAW) agreed to the Magna way of things, cause THEY are loosing members by the thousands. So as bad as you may think or feel that your division, or even Magna as a whole is, get a job at another plant or in another industry, if you like it better then good luck to you, but if you don't...count this as an 'I told you so', cause I've been there done that...11 years and counting!

Enjoy!

General Lott, head of the Michigan defense contract coordination center and creator of TrueNorth Logistics LLC, is visiting Wednesday. He awards defense contracts and runs Truenorth Logistics; business consulting and management. Not sure of the real nature of his visit yet.

Magna planed to Shut down Plastcoat about 3 month ago . When they take away Nissan Altima 2 & 4 dr Rocker panels BONUS to DESCOSTAR (400,000 car set a year )just the CAD too high . Plastcoat run 90%Yeild and Nissan very happy . RT Rocker, Plastcoat launch in 1 week with 92% Yeild . Now all the people , who worked 15 and over are apply for EXIT with 3 week pay per year service
