Unemployment is at record highs and people walk out from great paying jobs??? I don't get it. I'm sure there are thousands of people who would be willing to work for 1/2 of what they were making and be happy about it.

...WOW....If yor work hard for a company 4 30+ years abd they went form $25 to $14 you would be singin a diffrent song ...and what you think they are lazy. because they are fighting for what they belive in ... how about you get a life and stop ..hatting :) |
What is wrong with you guys.
The top men are not cutting their pay in half if anything they are getting paid more..These people have put their whole life in this company it's not their falt that the company droped the ball. They were promised to be taken care off. How many times have a company done you wrong are fired you for no reason. They are lucky to have someone support them and not get bullied around. Don't be mad @ them because they make good money. |

perfect example of American people BITTER...lol..:)

AMEN.... I agree with the majority. Fire them all and replace them with people who WANT to work. There are too many generational people, who keep getting lazier and more demanding, in there that keep dragging the automotive industry down with their high prices due to wages. FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE

Off with their heads..........OK too drastic.....FIRE THEM, along with Granholm. |
Get back to work or get fired. Period.

I am mad because without a college education, or even anything resembling brains (obviously) these people just up and walk off of damn good paying jobs, while many here in the State can't even find work to begin with. Plenty of us would love to have those good jobs, and would appreciate having them. |
We must be tolerant with them. They are only angry because these workers refuse to be pigeons in the park taking whatever scraps they are thrown like the others that are so angry at them. Just because slavery is illegal doesn't mean there aren't MANY who would like it to be legal. |
You know, obviously GM can't support the current demands of wages and benefits, look at how much money they're losing every quarter... they'll go bankrupt by the end of the next decade... :(

I think the whole thing is stupid. These are high paying jobs and nobody is asking anyone to take a pay cut. For the most part the people that walked off the job today aren't qualified to do anything else in the state. Giving the few companies left in Michigan more reason to leave. Most of the people posting on the side of the strikers need to work on their spelling and grammar as well. Idiots!

how about you get a life and stop ..hatting :) Times are changing and it's not for the better either. Time for workers to just be happy to have a job as there are so many of us w/o one. Nothing ticks me off more than seeing someone strike. I got news for ya: This ain't the 1920's where auto workers had to actually put some elbow grease into building a car. 14 bucks an hour is a pretty damn good wage to sit on an assembly line all day long letting a robot do the real work. |

By the way, my comment starts with "times are changing..."

It certainly seems that way. What I want to know is how is everybody so certain it's caused by (union) workers wages and benefits? Is it because they are so over paid because aren't making poverty level wages and benefits? If you really want to know how GM is doing, check it out: http://quote.morningstar.com/Quote/Quote.aspx... and here http://moneycentral.msn.com/ownership... |

I wonder have these workers heard of Mexico? I hope they do not think they are Immune from losing their jobs to a foreign country. It is easier than they think for a company to move their work out. Anyone can do their jobs!
