I live just two blocks from the Brownstown plant and have not seen a single car in the parking lot for almost two years. When it first opened there was a sign facing I-75 claiming the plant made the heart of Volt. The sign and employee cars disappeared at the same time in 2012. So my question is who has been making the Volt battery since then. Does this mean that the Volt and Caddy ELR batteries are coming back to Brownstown? I could use a job so where do I apply? Retired from Ford after 38 years as a Industrial mechanic. Anything they will be doing there would be childs play with my backround.
Glad to see jobs coming back to this area
