I agree completely with Ben Voulin's insightful remarks concerning the deceitful way Charlene Blake conducts her campaign of misinformation against Toyota, and I quote it once more for the record..........

"To Charlene Blake..........I empathize with those who have experienced sludge through no fault of their own, whether it be Toyota, Chrysler, Saab, BMW, Mercedes and other makes who have in fact had far more sludge reports than Toyota.
Why you have singled out Toyota as the single villain in an issue which affects virtually all manufacturers is bizarre.
Not only have you chosen Toyota as your prime target for "vengeance", but you distort facts, make wild amd unsupported claims, misrepresent, and last but not least you insist that EVERY story about sludge is Toyota's fault.
You must be blind to the opportunism you indulge in by accepting literally every tale of woe as gospel without the slightest attempt at verification.
Your petition is an example of the blatently dishonest way you present your case.
None of the names there are checked, and most are very clearly being planted to plump up the stats by cut pasting old history, and repeating many stories from old websites.
Not only that but you have blanked out more than half the names in your work...WHY??
Are you hiding something, perhaps the truth?? Charlene Blake, you are a fake and a blatant liar..and I suspect on the payroll of some competitor.
You are not the least bit credible in any way!"

Does anyone know if this extended warranty applies to vehicles bought in Canada? I have a 2002 Sienna bought in Canada?

The suit is specific to Siennas with the 1MZ-FE engine, mine has the 1MZ-FE VVT-i engine. Are these the same engines?

My wife's 97 Camry which has been maintained well and with regular oil changes, suddenly blew up on her way to her teaching job. When I came to see why the entire engine compartment was soaked in oil, I was shocked to see that fist sized hole to the left of the oil filter. It was by accident that I found on-line that there was even mention of a problem with oil sludge and that the blue smoke that I observed from time to time was a warning.

We have a car rendered useless and with 144,000 miles on it that Toyota promotes as a great engine, will have to be junked or another engine put into it. Have people, under these circumstances, been able to prevail in obtaining a settlement outside of the parameters of the lawsuit?? I would appreciate any feedback in reference to the above. Thanks!!

Here's some feedback:
Your "Royce" story about that blown engine is a fraud.
The ISP for this story is the same as another story by another name in another Topix forum!!
Quite a number of similar stories around the net originate from that same ISP.
So what's the real problem?
It's nonsense to continue doing this!!

Interesting enough, that person identified as "Camry Junk" has posted this same message in at least 25 other Toyota sites.
Not only that, the ISP used by that person is the same one used by the "Royce" personna above.
Must have a serious (and perhaps obsessive) hangup about Toyota for someone to do all that just to make a point!!
Makes one wonder about the integrity of anything this person says!!

Toronto bob is the obsessive. How does he get on 25 other sites related to Toyota? My wife's car is sitting at a repair shop in Chico. Useless!! I tried to post my phone number on this site, but I guess the post blocked it. My isp the same as someone else's? Don't know much about all that. Hey Bob, get a life!!!

Hey Royce--there are over 25 discussions in THIS TOPIX SITE pertaining to Toyota, and the guy from Cape May Courthouse appears in every one.
Sorry about your wife's car (if by some chance your story is for real), but 144,000 miles is a lot of mileage, and if it hasn't been maintained well, trouble's gonna happen sooner or later.
BTW, my life is just fine, thanks. Plus I don't have problems with unexpected breakdowns because my cars are properly maintained at all times.
By your own admission, you saw some signs of possible problems a while back.
Shame on you for not following up!!

Of course bobs car is properly maintained at all times, why would we question it??
Sure sounds like that wounderful oil sludge problem alot of people talking about.
Google 07 camry transmission problem
Learn the truth from real consumers screwed by toyota.
Go to www.autotrader.com look at how many 07 camrys have been traded back in with under 10,000 miles. must be a reason ha bob maybe its the dangerous hesitation/downshifting problem with the 4cly or the snap ring issue with the 6cly?
What ever the reason people are staying away!!!

Poor old "Camry Junk"!!
Doesn't like Toyota at all, and advertises his dislikes in every Toyota forum he finds on the net.
A whole lot of psychopathic obsession at work perhaps?
Something's a little unhinged upstairs when the guy has to resort to lies and blatent exaggerations to make a point!!
Perhaps a little therapeutic intervention might do some good?

I am just now dealing with my Toyota Camry Sludge problem. My car was purchased new and is only 5 years old. We maintained all the oil changes and on the way to town, the oil light came on and not 3 seconds later the engine just DIED. No warning lights, no sign that a thing was wrong. Now we find at the dealership that it was towed to that we have sludge in the engine and our bearings are gone.

I have never been so disappointed by, nor have I EVER had this serious of an issue with any other car I have owned. I will NEVER buy a Toyota agian. My sister has a Toyota as well. She is trading hers in for a Honda after seeing what has happened to me.

I am lucky to have a good lawyer in my family that will be taking this on.

When my car is repaired and Toyota pays for the repairs in full. I will be suing the life out of them. I may win or loose, but I will NOT take this quietly.

There are many complaints regarding this sludge problems with the Camry and the more people that rock the boat the better.

Is this story being told with a sterotypical and contrived "Spin"??
Is the author telling everything that should be told?
Are all the pertinent "facts" being disclosed?
Do we know all the maintenance history of this vehicle?
Do we know everything about how this vehicle was used by all those who used it?
Can anything said in the story be verified.
Is it something we should accept as gospel, given that the author is anonymous?
A ton of questions, all unanswered, yet we apparently expected to make some kind of judgement on the basis of little or no infomation.
What's wrong with this picture???
It smacks more of propaganda than real!!

Sorry about the spelling error. An honest mistake on my part.

However this is a "good news/bad news" situation.

Good news?
Things like spelling errors can be can corrected.

Bad news?
That disgusting and seriously demented neanderthal calling himself "Motown" is beyond help.
He's too far into his deviant fantasies to correct his situation.

It's a good thing there aren't too many more creeps like that on the loose!!!

There's another descriptor that should be added to "neanderthal" and "creep".

The word "Pervert" works!!

Whatever, AOL, you're a world class loser.

They all fit.
