The CAW is at Plastcoat

I dont no why Magna bringing this fuckin union to Plastcoat.We dont want them we dont even need them guys to take my money. all they do is harass us at lunchand break and im sick of it. Plastcoat have no voice to say our side only CAW can say what they want. We emplyees need to speak out and get them out of here! i use this site to talk free and say my mind. Plastcoat employees what you say?

I been in union before. they always promise and nothing happen. they close last plantI work in. Look around how many plants closed most of them union. We do not need this shit in plastcoat. They have no guarantee for us. Nothing new same thing fairness committee and advocate. only talk about pay raise we already get. new business we get our self no problem! We sign petition so get them out I don't want them here nomore!!!!

No we cant!!! we have to say no NOW! Not easy to kick union out when they are in. i heard CAW contract for all magna divisions so if plastcoat want them out all magna union divisions have to agree to get out of union. too hard!!! choice is now!!!!!

Dream on if you think you can get out of the union any time. The union will blacklist and harass you if you start rocking the boat. Don't get between the CAW and its $$$$. That's what you are to the CAW.$$$$$$$$. The CAW will collect every month (over $12,000 every month from Plastcoat employees)(Over $150,000 every year) and they will do nothing in return. Where is your money going??

There is no JOB SECURITY because Plastcoat does not own a lot of new programs. We are getting all of our new business from other MAGNA Divisions, THEY OWN THE MOLDS, we just run it for them. If they decide to pull molds, no union will stop them.

We do not want union at all. They will close our plant and you will not get anything out if it. There are only showing only the dreams. I work long enough in Plastcoat and when we were in badtimes and have success with Plascoat, so why the hell do we need union. We do not need union at all. Union will crush our plascoat family.

Dream on friend! Union dont want you to work overtime. They want more money! They charge union dues 2 hrs 20 minutes from everybody a month, but not on overtime you worked. They want more people in the plant, and no overtime!

The union want to hire the temps, make them pay union dues. 20 temps hired means over $10,000 to the union. If plastcoat hire 20 people, cost the company lots more money, there goes your profit and job security.

I found something else on the internet. They tell us that Magna wants union here?

Letter from CAW Independent Parts and Suppliers Council:
"Traditional approaches(handing out leaflets, organizing one plant at a time through the normal OLRB process, etc.) have clearly failed at Magna, and there's no reason to believe that record will suddenly change. However, the CAW has managed to get a toehold at Magna, as a result of our creative use of pressure through our BigThree auto negotiations. Through those negotiations(backed by a strong, decade-long oganizing campaign at Integram in Windsor), we managed to get Magna to accept the union at three plants (two in Windsor, one in Mississauga)."

They use leverage, not democratic vote to get unions there!

"Now we have the chance to expand the CAW's presence at Magna to encompass potentially all of their manufacturing ffacilities in Canada. That would bring in as many as 18,000 new ato parts members to our union. Of course, we are not interested solely in capturing new members. Our goal here, rather is to preserve the CAW's critical mass in representing auto parts workers throughout our industry. Right now, that critical mass is threatened by plant closures and layoffs at so many of our CAW-represented facilities. In short, we must pursue every possible avenue to bring new members into our union."

"Likewise, this agreement is not at all motivated by a search for new dues money on the CAW's part."

So does this mean we join for free? Why do they want 2 hours and 20min from each of us? So they can drive around in their Cadillac's?

I strictly recommend to Fairness Committee of Plastcoat do not allow a secret ballot vote. Vote must be open for observation to have chance for everybody check the vote has been made. This will not give any chance for CAW to do any falsifications during calculation results of voting; will protect appearing illegal voting bulletin! The selected Observers from Fairness Committee of Plastcoat must be attended in the voting commission during all the time voting will hold the place! For chance to get $150.000 per year You should expect all kind of tricks! Do not be surprised! Good Luck!

12. CAW says: Working conditions language - Working hours, shift hours, overtime pay, breaks and lunches defined in the CBA including shift premium, notice of overtime and banking of overtime, call back pay and reporting pay.
I say: Plastcoat employees get more paid breaks then Magna unionzed plants. The union likes to limit overtime and hire more people because it gives them more money!
13. CAW says: Vacation language spells out entitlement by service and allocation by seniority.
I say: This is the same as what we have at Magna.
14. CAW says: Holidays set in collective agreement including floaters.
I say: This is the same as what we have at Magna.
15. CAW says: Leave of Absense language including personal leave, pregnancy parental leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, union leave (PEL), paid education leave. 2 half days off to be utilized for medical, dental leave.
I say: They only get additional paid education leave for Union training. We have the rest.
16. CAW says: Temporary student programs for your kids to be employed while they go to school to allow you more time off the job.
I say: Plastcoat already does this.
17. CAW says: Skilled trades language including seperate representation, apprentice language, training, tool allowance, contracting and full utilization language.
I say: We already have skilled trades representation through our many open door avenues and we are very happy at Plastcoat!
18. CAW says: Paid education leave and social justice fund and legal plan, with free wills, power of attorney and real-estate transactions.
I say: CAW gives paid education only for union training. And the legal plan is a taxable benefit, and employees have to pay income tax on it, even if they never use it!!
19. CAW says: Inverse seniority lay-off language.
I say: Plastcoat already does this.
20. CAW says: Recognition - CAW is the sole bargaining agent.
I say: CAW comes between employees and management. We loose our voice!!

VOTE THE CAW OUT!!!!! WE DONT NEED THEM!!!!!
