Hey now, a delphi thermal employee piping in? That plant is steadily shrinking in workforce and sales revenue. How are the hourly wages out that way?
well.... it pays the bills.....thats about all it does...and no i dont live in a huge house or drive a $30,000 car... i live in an upper/lower apt in kenmore and my vehicle is a 2005 that costs me a lot of $$$ in gas to get to work every day.... but like i said it pays the bills... and im usually too tired after work to go out anyway, so i guess i dont need $$$ for anything but bills... thanks for asking

Another example of the rape of the middle class by the rich and powerful. These greedy bastards don't give a hoot about you or me. All they care about is making more money. It doesn't matter to them that the workers are the ones who made them fat and rich to begin with!

3rd transmission! Chevy junk would never last that long. The winters here would make that thing be completely dissolved by now.

then if america is so repressed, why would toyota build a 3 billion dollar plant in texas? you guys have no clue on what your talking about!
I read a article somewhere that its because its cheaper for them to build the cars here than to build them there and ship them over to here...plus alot of the cars I guess were getting damaged in the shipping process

toyota pays there people well( 24.00) knowing the money americans are paying for those cars going back to japan is the funny part,no loyality. just like a nissan, toyota, acura, bmw, with a "proud veteran" bumper sticker. a big joke. americans selling them selfs out. dont blame it on the uaw, blame it on your selfs.keep on buying foreign automakers crap.and shop even more at walmart.dont worry we"ll all make 8.00 hrs.
Once again when you buy a foreign car, you get better quality at a lower price. That's because you don't have to pay extra to support outrageous union benefits.

The blame does go to the UAW, whether you like it or not. They priced their workers right out of the market. And don't tell me I can't buy a foreign car or shop at Wal-Mart, the union may own your arse but it doesn't own mine!

Yeah, apply for welfare. Then you'll already be used to how much work is needed to get your money. Nothing like a union job to prepare one for a life of loafing!

I agree that the Comapny is gargaining in bad faith...It's obvious that the ultimate goal of moving operations overseas is driven by corporate greed... I feel badly for the families of the workers affected by this strike but, I applaud the stand they're taking...The company, dispite any considerations offered by the union, is bent on moving...at least they'll know they've been in a expensive fight fought on the worker's time table...not the company's. Any considerations given to the company only mitigates the company's interim losses. It does NOT alter thier ultimate goals...
Since when is preventing a company from going bankrupt corporate greed? You should get yourself some education in the field of economics.

To what I have heard through someone who's a higher up in GM, they have wanted to get rid of ALL of the NY plants, due to this state has the highest compensation rates, disability rates, etc. and the NY plants are the most expensive to keep running, which makes a lot of sense, unfortunately. The taxes in NY state, the compensation laws, etc. are getting way out of control. It's killing jobs around here. And it's not just in the auto industry.
