Here are some facts for you.

The "moron" down the street from me was involved in one of these so-called "co-op" programs. He is now in more legal trouble than he could have ever have bargained for.

He was selling cars from his driveway with a Wisconsin dealer license which is illegal. He had absolutely no interest in wholesaleing cars, and the person on the top of this pyramid scheme told him there was no problem selling cars from his driveway, just to get that payment check. The ONLY way these "BUY BY MAIL" dealer licenses can actually work is if the person plans on strictly wholesaleing cars to other dealers, or leave them on another dealers lot on consignment for retail sale. Anything else and you are entering the "curbstone zone" and will be met with fines and possible imprisonment. No matter what these hacks say, there is no state in the country that allows licensed dealers to sell cars from their home, unless that home is properly zoned and meets the requirements in that state. You for sure cannot use another states' dealer license to sell cars from your driveway. And furthermore, there is something called "off site sales" which can only be done at an auction. Any other sale, wholesale or retail, must be made at dealers licensed address and no where else.

I fully believe all of theses people need to "get the facts".

First and formost!
I have to ask myself why you would be replying to these posts so negatively. Then my next question is how you would know your neighbor down the street got into trouble over selling cars in his driveway. Are you the one that called the cops or license detectives to his house. hmm sounds like you are a dealer with a lot and are a little pissed off. Dont lie to people to discourage them from making some money.
People need to use common sense when selling without a lot period. put a car or two on your driveway is ok. just drive it to burger king or taco bell to show it to the prospective buyer, use your dealer tag to driveit there. nothing illegal in that. after you know they are a real buyer and not some scam artist have them go inside the diner, starbucks or whatever and take out your briefcase with your paperwork and get to filling out your stuff if you need to make a cash sale there, if not meet them at the bank or drive over with them to the bank. just use common sense.
dont listen to morons that dont like competition. Ive been doing this for 2 years now, and a few times ive had cops/inspectors ask me stuff and after i show them my documents they walk away. i never show a car at my home, just pure common sense, some of you may be lazy and that will get you in trouble. a home is not a place of business. meet someplace else.
enjoy and more tips to come soon.

There are legal ways to buy under a legal dealership, ie; such as mine. However, there are illegal ways as well. Be careful.

You are correct, there is a legal way; and that legal way is to get a valid dealers license of your own. Renting, sharing, leasing, whatever you call it, is taking a big chance and possibly illegal also.

You are asking to do something that is dangerous and potentially illegal.

And you are the police? or a public official?
a city inspector and know the law?
Or are you a dealer?
Most likely you are a dealer with a lot and are trying to discourage people from making some money.
I go to auctions and see big dealers that know me.
They get pissed because they have all this overhead and I make more money than they do sometimes.
I have no office no electric bill no employees. All profit, minus the monthly fee I pay. typical to pay someone $300 to $400. nothing illegal if they add you to the corporation. I have it in writing from my attorney and the city officials here. So go lie to someone else!
