How many of you car salesmen have customers that come in and then get turned down because their scores are bad? Or how many customers do you get that have credit issues that keep them from getting the car they want?

These days it seems like everybody, even people you would not expect. Some people's credit is so bad they cannot finance a hot dog, yet they still don't understand why they can't get a $20,000 car. The give away for me is when they ask "how much is the down payment?" As soon as I hear that (after two hours of them kicking tires) I'm 99 percent sure they won't be approved for financing. We don't work with sub-prime lenders since we are too small. Even if we did, the customer probably won't have enough down money for the deal.
