Too bad they larded another 2 million. We would be in a much more secure position with just the 2.8 cut in spending. Think rainy day fund.
Three steps forward, two steps back. At least it is still progress. |

1. Lower pay for every employee who makes over
30 dollars an hour-with the exception of county physicians-they need a pay increase. 2. The bloated prosecutors office could transfer some lawyers to the understaffed public defenders office. 3. Their are way to many "loafers" in Open Space-sorry guys-i've seen what you guy do in those big Fords during the day. 4. Their are many positions that bored- highly qualified- Marin retirees that would do for 1/2 the pay. Most already have their own private health insurance, so they would rally be an asset. 5. Hire an independent consulting firm and carefully evaluate each department-and cut the jobs that should have been eliminated 10 years ago. 6. There's a lot of unnecessary and overpaid bureaucratic jobs that need to be eliminated. 7. We can't keep doing business as usual when people can barely pay their property taxes, or pay you exorbitant fees- 8. The state needs to stop over regulating California citizens. A few years ago I read the the state passes 12,000 new laws each year-not counting regulations. Most of these new laws just add to the bureaucratic mess. 9. Cut this Bureaucratic Mess immediately! |

Enforce three strikes and the immigration laws and we won't need so many public defenders.

It's great to see funds for the Canal Area....
-$50,000 for Canal Alliance in connection with counseling services for youth detained at Juvenile Hall under the jurisdiction of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. (Is this a Gavin Newsom specialty program? I'll counsel those youth pro-bono ... Se habla deportation?) -$27,200 for the Gardeners Guild of Richmond to provide gardening services at the county's health clinic campus in the Canal area (You mean where the day laborers have littered and trampled the landscape? And could we at least support local businesses ans hire a landscaping crew in our own County?) |

Excellent points "lower pay". Remember the salary increases of about $280K that were approved by the county about 4 weeks ago because per Laura Armor there was plenty of money "already tucked into the county budget" for this purpose? Remember the generous $10K bonus finally accepted by the county pension chief the day after the election (co-incidental timing, eh)? At least, the county makes clear who it takes care of first....and it ain't the county taxpayers/residents. If they only has the same deep pockets as AIG, what a party it could be.
