Hello, I am thinking of starting my own aquaponics system but I have questions about a few things. What size tank would be good to feed a family of 4 with the tilapia? And how many tilapia should I start out with? How many tilapia can fit in that size tank total?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Those are good questions! The main thing you may want to keep in mind is the stocking density for tilapia is usually around 1/2 to 1 pound per gallon. The other factor to keep in mind is the type of filtration you will use. If you are seriously considering this i would take a look at http://www.aquaticeco.com they have awesome systems to start up with and they can work out the little details!
