Here we go again! My first mistake was the Neptune washer and I was Stupid enough to buy Maytag appliances again! I think the rebates are a joke too!,because all this does is keep you trapped under a Maytag product. If I had the money I would replace all 5 and get me Another Brand!

The Neptune washers with the issues were made by Samsung. The latest recall was on dishwashers made by Maytag Corp not Whirlpool. Maytag appliances now are built by Whirlpool. Whirlpool made Maytag units have not been affected by any recalls. Whirlpool has changed Maytag back to being a good brand again.

Yes, this once was a great country BUT now we are just interested only in making a buck thus QUALITY went out the window and SO did the inspection process. God don't waste your time blessing America, a country of the RICH, by the RICH and for the RICH.

No, now we have so much regulation that every product could be recalled for one silly reason or another.

Ok I have a few things to say tward the recall and some of the bad comments made twards maytag.
#1 Maytag is recalling because of 12 cases where fires happened out of 1.7 million units sold. Its more of a precaution than anything. You can get the washer fixed free or they will give you money twards another unit.$150 to $250
As far as the neptune. It was the first frontload ever made. It definately had its problems. There was no one else to show us the potential issues involved with a front loaders. This is why you find other companies copying several of our ideas. We didnt have the luxury. However, maytag now has a 13 year life expectancy because they started so soon. where Samsung and LG are both in the frontload business for less than 8 years and are just hoping their first unit will last that long much less have an average over 10 years.
Fact: Maytag and Whirlpool as a brandname holds the lowest repair rate for the last 13 years running.
It stinks that some people have a bad experience. I work for a Maytag brand store(whirlpool, amana, estate, jenn-air, kitchenaid and of course maytag). I honestly believe that we have the best products period. Samsung and LG is very pretty but they have no where near the average life expectancy that we do. Furthermore because we are not a "Big Box" store. I have service and delivery right here in the same building to ensure if something does happen, I can get it fixed without pushing you to an 800 number. This is what you get from sterring clear of the corporate sales channels.
