I find this a bit far fetched but people find loop holes to everything and this could be an example. I dont agree 2Mil is the answer but jetblue is at fault too for trying to fill up planes beyond capacity. We see it all the time passengers break FAA rules they get cuffs slapped on, fines and anything else. I hope if this guy is right that something changes to cover these stupid loopholes just to make airlines win couple of extra bucks.

I am a management consultant who travel frequently. As unbelievable as this story may sound,I believe that it must be true because the carrer is JetBlue.
On my last flight with JetBlue, I saw a male flight attendant throwing a passenger's carry-on luggage on the ground and yelling at the poor little lady just because she asked if she could keep her purse under the seat! I could not believe my eyes and ears. |

I was going to write the same thing but someone beat me to it. The only information in the article is from a $2,000,000 lawsuit. People will believe what they are told I guess. What if the article had said that Mutlu was forced to ride on the wing? All you people still going to say he deserves his $2 million? |

For citizen; Don't you know any law? When you are going to court you don't make any coments. Ask any lawyer, keep you dam mouth shut. You will do our talking in court.
In reading all of these comments it makes me believe to never give any thing free out. They will come back and screw you. |

JetBlue is reeeeeeeeally heading downhill. I flew from Burbank to JFK in a broken seat that wouldn't recline with a broken TV. They moved me and guess what - ALSO BROKEN!(Not to mention how rude they were.) When I wrote JetBlue they offered me a measly $15 coupon. Hope this guy has more luck.

Yes, I do. I am a lawyer, actually. And I tell my clients all the time not to say anything to the press. I have no dispute with JetBlue's decision not to comment at this time. My point, however, was that people who were deriding the reporter or "the media" for just printing a one-sided story were off-base. A reporter can only report "both sides" if both parties provide their account of the story. In this case, the reporter had the plaintiff's side through his court filings, and he properly attributed the claims. He or she then made reasonable attempts to get JetBlue's side, but JetBlue chose not to comment. All of this was reported in the article. Given all this, the complaints leveled against the reporter in the comments are baseless. If the reporter could have gotten some sort of public documents or spoken with witnesses other than the parties, that would have been helpful. But, given the circumstances, I don't know how the reporter is expected to know or report anything more than what is in the court filings or what one of the parties would tell him. |

Captain my ass. Read your FARs you idiot. If you even know what that is. Airline crew are the only ones who get more ridiculous every time I go out to fly as a passenger on a commercial flight...which I try to avoid if at all possible. |

I've had crappy seats flying non-rev, but this one takes the cake!
|
I agree with you here. Yes, there was potential harm to the passenger, if indeed this happened as reported. But the guy suffered no real harm. He//, the can has more room than your normal airline seat. Give the guy $10k or so for his discomfort, fire the pilot, and that's it. |

Why didn't he also name the pilot in the suit? Because JetBlue has deeper pockets?
|
|
Sounds like free first class seating for Life for this guy! That would make Jet very blue!

|
Well, if that thing is true, he does deserve some kind of compensation. I guess $1000 would be a very generous amount for having to spend 3 hours on an uncomfortable seat. TWO MILLION? Oh, wow, that is one of these cases where people are actually happy for something without real consequences happening to them, because it is such an easy way to become rich. I'd try it too.

Ba dum, ching! |

Well, excuse us! for health reasons people need to drink water, and when that happens something else must happen. also ever heard of deap vein thromposis? you need to get up and move around for the good of your veins. Sorry this bothers you, but if I feel the urge to get up once or twice during a flight it's my right to. |
|
Agree totally. The airlines should also equip the cabin with what we used to call "piddle pipes" back in Scouting. That's what you do when it's too cold to get out of the tent to pee. At this would work for male passengers. Guy gets up, says "excuse me," you say, "no, use the piddle pipe." |

Coulda been worse. He could have flown Southwest and gotten kicked off for showing too much cleavage.

Better then a camel!!!

this story sounds like something a crackhead would come up with when a bunch of people start pounding on the toilet door needing to relieve themselves while he's in there all bugeyed

You're brilliant! I will bail out Aloha Airlines out of bankruptcy and you will be my CEO. At the end of the flight, we'll serve warm chocolate chip cookies and milk to our passengers as they sit on their toilets. |
|
I've actually gone into the lav to sit on the toilet while flying JetBlue. Much more leg room, no squealing babies. It's peace and quiet. I didn't have the guts to stay in for long, but next time, I'll ask the pilot if I can just hang in there for the flight's duration. Hope no one sues me cause they needed to take a leak and couldn't.
