After all the B.S. the City of Dallas has put Southwest Airlines through the last 40 years, this should be a no-brainer. The City's own study said SWA, is the better candidate to receive the gates.

Southwest Airlines will offer more flights to more destinations for a lower price. I like Virgin America, and I have no problem with them expanding at any other airport, but I think Southwest has paid its dues at Love Field and deserves those gates.

Southwest Airlines has invested millions upon millions of dollars in Dallas and the State of Texas, it would be a damn shame if they decided to pack up and make their headquarters in another more "agreeable" city. Southwest has publicly stated that they would love to expand in Dallas, but if they don't get these gates, there are other cities in which they can and will expand instead. The City of Dallas should think very, very carefully on this one. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, if Southwest runs a bare bones operation out of Dallas and focuses all of the flying out of Houston, if they don't get the gates.

HOU couldn't handle ALL the flying out of there!!! The king of the discounts who always said how competition was good at the OTHER airports now wants all the gates in DAL!! Bunch of BS!!!!! Now SWA is all of the sudden the BULLY at Luv field. And SWA would move the HQ out of town????....LOL.....NO WAY!!!! esp. after building a state of art addition to the original HQ. Quit dreaming ark. GK doesn't like spending $$$ he doesn't have to. The city of Dall-ass should think very hard.....they don't want to piss of the DOJ!!!!!!
