WHY HAVE WE ALL ACCEPTED THE PRACTICE OF OVERSELLING. IT IS SE
LLING SEATS THAT ARE NO LONGER AVAILLABLE. HOW DOES THE<
GOVERNMENT ALLOW SUCH A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR THE CUSTOMER.

RealTalk, it's very simple. No-shows. If the "government" banned overbooking every airplane would leave the gate less than full. Since the air carriers are in business to make money, empty seats are a no-no.
