Actually we are far more open than most countries. In Asia it is a crime to kiss a woman in public (India and China especially). Islamic countries a couple doing what these two did would have meant that they would have been whipped, or even executed. Even Europe is more strict on such behavior. The only aspect that tends to be more liberal than us is that in South/Central America it is ok to have sex with underage girls. Asia also allows that. The only really open countries are in SE Asia but they generally exploit the poor.
