SkyWest Airlines (Sub... of SkyWest, Inc.)

Republic Airlines (Sub... of Republic Airways)

Endeavor Air (Sub... of Delta Air Lines)

Compass Airlines (Sub... of Trans States Holdings)

None of these names are geographically limiting

Just went through regional airline names as there are so few significant airline left. Out of all the airlines that are left, only these 4 airlines seem to have brand names except for maybe (SkyWest) that are strong enough and least regionally to go do flying on their own.

Should Southwest, Hawaiian, or Alaska consider buying the branding and assets of one of these carriers and adopting the regional name as their mainline brand, and keeping the name Southwest, Hawaiian, or Alaska as their regional brand?

In all practical sense, if the US AA merger fails, well how will US AA get bigger without acquiring HA, F9, B6, or AS. How for example, will AS or HA get

b i g g e r

to counter the non megas of WN, US, or AA or a potential US/F9 and AA/B6 merger?
(Side note: Southwest seems big enough to potentially forgo rebranding as does US Airways) However Alaska and Hawaiian kind of do not make a lot of sense unless you are going to Hawaii or Alaska.

Also realize the fiascos of ExpressJet, Independence Air, and Republic Airways Holdings (Midwest / Frontier), indepedently branded flubs and failures.

Could any of these 4 airlines pull off independent ops or be considered an acquisition partner strictly for the name and branding? Delta I might ad seems to have the least to lose with

" - E N D E A V O R - A I R - "

although I am just not sure about that name as it sounds so legacy and terminal.

If you aren't AA, DL, UA, or WN... You are pretty much a regional airline now.

Better wake up and smell the coffee, and find a way of not being dependent upon the giant carriers feed for your business

I like to know what airline I actually am flying!

AA Eagle
DL Connection
UA Express

Simply means to me I don't really know who I am flying! These are your choices.

Is a mega Con Pregle Airlines the only real future airline that may offer domestic competition to AA, DL, UA? Republic Airways Holdings tried it with their lack of real world experience with Frontier in some ways.

Could an experienced air firm such as JetBlue,
be up to it and master such a challenge :-)!

They have a brand far more respected than any Eagle Connection or Express!

I can't imagine why you wouldn't know what airline you're flying. The disclosure of the code-share partner is give to you every time the marketing airline's name is mentioned.
