As Shakespeare said, whats in a name. Take pride in who you are as a person, not in a silly name that flies in the face of common sense. Years ago, many people coming to America from Europe shortened their names in an effort to mainstream in their new home.
Shorten the name and move on in life as a reasonable person, not complaining about something so trivial and silly.
