Airline Animal Deaths Raises Concern
Since: May 08

I can't count the number of dogs and cats I've handled in 26 years... Plus a bear, tiger and pot bellied pigs.. Yes pigs have flown... you owe somebody something. I have more than my share of "loving" owners that don't provide a blanket even.. Use the same kennel they bought when the dog was a puppy. I refused to load a dog one day. After the supervisor talked to the passenger 3-4 times, I was finally forced to make this dog fly transcon in too small of kennel... Locking the owner in the lav for 5 hours would have given her more room. Animal deaths are a tragedy. I've never witnessed any unknd acts or poor treatmet during my time. I have seen some pretty bad owners too cheap to insure thier pets are safe and happy. When you mention it they say it's OK. They do it all thie time... My practice is to lie about the origin of the flight to the "owner" in baggage claim to insure no one is stealing a pet. If they don't correct me I don't release the aniumal without ID.
