Is the EMB 190 a regional aircraft if mainline?

Hmmm this is challenging!

From what I understand regional aircraft are crewed by people not working for the company directly.

Example Mesa Airlines flying for US Airways. So if an EMB 190 is flown by US Airways and crewed by US Airways employees, it is NOT a regional aircraft but a mainline aircraft.

US Airways flies and crews the EMB 190 with US Airways crews thus it would not be a regional aircraft.

US Airways outsources the EMB 170 type flying to regional airlines so thus it would be a regional aircraft, in that case.
