I should know...This is the point I am trying to get at The JB employees should Unionize and get a contract with a no 'mandatory ovrtime' clause. If they can do it to the employees they will. Only with work rules and a contract that spells out how many hours a emplotee has to work will the employees get respect. Then there are those that would roll over and take anything the boss dishes out because THEY are TEAM players. They also get old and fat and SICK and then the company will just throw them away without a thought or a thankyou. Mandatory overtime is like slavery. The boss tells YOU when YOU can go home and if you don't like it he'll fire you. Get a Union contract and see how fast that changes or stay on the TEAM and get old and get screwed when your 55 and to old and fat or sick to get another job. Happened to a friend of mine. He's 59, made a safety error, the boss fired him on the spot. He had 40 years with the company. Started there right out of high school. No union to protect him and he's out of a job at 59.

Personally, I have flown JetBlue and I do not understand all the HYPE.
Airport infrastructure scked in JFK.
The way they processed late arriving pasengers at JFK security screening checkpoint left no incentive to arrive on time and was nothing but appalling to those who did show up as expected and required and on time.
Ticket agents were standardly helpful but nothing over the top.
A320 was chocker block full and the New Orleans crowd on there were some of the loudest, most abnoxious passengers I have ever had the displeasure of having to sit on a plane with.
Flight attendants serviced us a choice of chips or cookies with a drink, and complimentary inflight multichannel video, which did not keep this boisterous crowd on board entertained.
I would rather not travel with this rabble or anywhere near JFK, so for me ... you New Yorkers can have JetBlue. I guess they may be offering better service then what most in the area are used to is all I can think of, but for me it was just bordering on fair to middling.
I do wish their employees no ill will though.

sorry but the Valentine's Day experience was exactly as "Jet Blue Hostage' said it was in many stations, forced overtime, incompetant supervisors and hundreds of bags misdirected to small stations...THOUSANDS to JFK....too big too fast just caught up with them, its happened in the industry before but when we don't learn from it we REPEAT...DN tried to make up for it after witgh holiday pay, but the individual station management tactics are OUT OF CONTROL and thats where the downhill slide will continue...

It is amazing how you guys talk so much $hit about jetblue. first of all, if this is for crewmwmbers only forum, WTF is finleyproduction doing in this forum? I worked for jetblue for about 2 years now at 2 diferent stations and they DO NOT treat their employees the way finleyproduction said. As you may know, the media is the one that is discriminating jetblue by talking S*** about them all the times. All airlines are basically the same. Planes break down, Delays, good people/bad people work together etc.
One of the mistakes that jetblue did was expand to soon. everytime they open a city, there was alot of $$ spent.(more crew members, gates, landing fees, etc) I believe that they are going to only anounce about 2 new cities per year and try to conect the dots.(open new flights between excisting cities)
Things are gonna change for jetblue for goos. they are gonna be profitable like never before. the reason I say this is because after all that happen, they still making $$. is nt that wierd? lol People will be surpriced with what s next.
1 last thing, I am very proud to work for an award winning airline.

I guess your typing skills and ability to spell were not a job requirement. JB will be bought out in the near future by one of the larger carriers. You can count on it.

flipper wrote: <quoted text>I hear you say this....and then I hear the Ramp guys say just the opposite...Mabe the two work groups are treated Differently? I was working on Valentines. I was forced to stay all night at the ticket counter. I was always scheduled in MCO until 11pm, but I never got to go home until 1,2,3 or 4 in the morning.(I also had 3 kids at home to take care of the next morning). Supervisors would sneak out and leave us there to meet the flights. I once made a comment to a pilot that i thought the company was going to fold, because MCO was such a mess. He wrote a 2 page letter about my "bad attitude". If only he had known I was one of the hardest working, most upbeat people there. While I did enjoy my time there, I worked for another airline prior where I was really treated better. I have since changed careers. JB Pilots, quit turning your back to how the other employees are treated. It will destroy the future of the airline. They do matter.
