When your first act after a coup d'état put on by the BOD is to lead the company into BK that's how it should be. No way his actions as CFO and CEO warrant that kind of payday....I thought he'd wait till after the BK was over for the merger. That would have led to a payday without the judge ruling on it.... Luckily the creditors didn't want to wait.

This is the new corporate America. Can you imagine an indvidual being rewarded for going bankrupt? American was once the premier airline in the world. Does leading a once proud company into bankrupcy deserve a $20 million dollar reward? Maybe if we rewarded success insead of failure, our economy and our our country would be stronger.

Rewards for doing a job well done and going above and beyond are long gone! I find hundreds of thousands of dollars a year where I work and barely a thank you! Those who slack get a brief speaking to and continue slacking. I get more praise and appreciation for volunteering 4 hours a week.
