DL & AS are public relations masters!

Free PR as DL hedges bets in SEA if US/AA fails!

Really good political move upon the part of Delta to sway Washington politicians and create doubt, angst, and turmoil regarding AA/US.

If AA/US go through well they will be bigger than Delta.
If AA/US do not go through, than JetBlue's JFK hub and Alaska's SEA hub would look attractive to American's creditors, seeking OneWorld scale for AA.

PR and big biz politics to shape, influence, and hedge. Bigger three airline status is coming to AA with or without US, and DL realizes this, and wants to repave the way to being #1 in size!

Oh answer,

Inner workings amateur hour secondary VP type strategery within Delta,

but now manufactured, as Delta has shown its poker face in regards to AA, and full retrenchment is in place.

Delayta....making public enemies out of....

1. Aeroflot

2. Korean Air

3. China Eastern

4. Now Alaska

Hmmm, Delayta is one company to stay from getting into bed with. Plus broken old crappy airplanes.
DL is about WN

The partial ramp up of DL on the left coast is more about WN. WN and AS are the natural cumulation of the merger fervor.

DL just wants assurance from AS that they will maintain their go at it alone strategy, or agree to cozy up to DL more so then AA, and never WN.

DL is just a little insecure now WN is in ATL. Now DL just wants more security out west, but has also now upset the apple wagon, and forced unwanted attention upon the jewel of the northwest.

This jewel and their frequent flyers are looking more and more SW every day with every UA, DL and AA departure.

Three airlines left.

Hawaiian Alaska JetBlue!

Obviously either AA, DL, UA, or WN is going to be left standing out in the rain.

Which will it be!
