While AMR has lost more than $10 billion since 2001 _ it filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2011 _ US Airways has returned to profitability despite competing against bigger rivals such as United and Delta Air Lines Inc.
AMR discounts that performance, saying that US Airways has kept labor costs artificially low by not reaching new contracts with union workers such as flight attendants and pilots. Flight attendants picketed around the country on Wednesday and are conducting a strike-authorization vote

You are correct and on top they want a 5 or 6 year deal. That would make a 11 year contract. They are the worst company. But all the execs get huge bonuses. Startup company run by amr execs G2 it sweeping in behind and eating up all layef off or demoted employes jobs. Nice bunch you have leading the company.
