are AA's LAX operations an asset to sale for a private equity acquisition. Personally, I really only see ORD, DFW, MIA as the real core of an independent profitable AMR.

American employees had better take anotherlook at any merger with US Air. If they would, they would notice that the leadership there is not good. An example of that is the length of time to try and work out the pilot seniority after their last merger and the length of time before they started to negotiate a new contract. I think that they will see that they are better off with Mr. Horton leading them. Once the bankruptcy is completed they will find he is a strong leader with a positive vision for American.
