This is so strange. I just found that India's biggest Private Airway's, Jet Airways's Corporate Slogan / Punchline, i.e. The Joy Of Flying is on sale in the form of a Domain Name.

This is so strange.

Hope they understand the value of protecting their tagline and registering it.

I dont think companies in India give enough value towards these insights. And leave room for attacks from cyber-squatters.

Well, I dont think Cyber-squatting is bad.

I think cyber-squatters are very smart. You need brains to be cyber-squatters. And, yes there is always a way of tellin others that "we are smarter than you".

Well........ Jet Airways......... I think you guys at the top of the Management need to do your home work.

Maybe, Jet should register a site :-

Jet Airways never really understood the inportance of their slogan. Well, i thought Jet Airways was managed by professionals, but, seems now that conception will change.

Hi,

I agree with Deep Blue's post.

People at Jet Airways' should have thought of the concequences before in hand.

Such corporations though grow in size but they leave out such important basics. They do not understand the importance of registering their presence on the Internet, be it the name, or anything like a tagline that can come under attack from cyber-squatters.

True,

But, i doubt if Indian companies understand the importance of registering domain names.

I hope, this case will open the eyes of the Indian Corporate.

Aviator,

This is a place to post your views.

U might think that registering your slogan as a domain name might not be important. But, imagine the position that Jet Airways of India is in as of now.

The Joy of Flying is their Tagline and that it has become a part of their Logo.

And, anyone can mis-use www.thejoyofflying.com . Anyone can use it to tarnish Jet Airways image.

I hope you might change your post after reading this follow-up update.

Why does not Jet Airways take legal advise on this ?

I am sure they will win over the rights for this domain and that cyber-squatter will be compelled to relinquish the rights for this in favour of Jet Airways

Why should not Jet Airways get bothered by this.

This situation seems like someone has taken away Jet Airways' baby and someone else commenting on the situation "Jet Airways need not get bothered by this".

Well, so much is being posted on this issue.

I do strongly understand it is a mistake comitted by Jet Airways as they did not register their slogan.

But, I do not think there would be any logical end to this deries of tread till either that domain expires or till Jet Airways buys that domain or till the same is sold off to another third party domain broker.

Well, till then i will keep a track on this post. You know, at times it is good to know that people within an organization are jackass' and the ones outside are smarter.

I think such companies should tender their management to smart people, people who use their brain.

Jet Airlines should wake up from its winter sleep and do something about this.

It seems they are not concerned about the way the image of the Airlines is being tarnished by the very fact that its own Tagline is registered by someone else and above all, this Post is bring out the unprofessionalizm in Jet Airways to the whole of the Internet world.
