It could've been worse. They could've summoned a West Hempstead High School student to drive him home.

I guess the pilot's girl had to be on that flight one way or another. The pilot probably thought that the minority wouldn't have the nerve to complain about having to fly cross-country while sitting on a toilet. The pilot probably figured, hey this guy's probably an illegal alien so I think I'll exploit the situation like most businesses do; (you know, stick it to the alien and they won't complain for fear of being deported). The aggrieved should have found himself a lawyer willing to sue for ten million as opposed to two million. Let's see if JetBlue has the onions to fire the pilot and the flight attendant!!! Another airline to cross off the list of airlines to fly.

Jet Blue and the pilot could be in deep doodoo over this. You can't have a passenger who is not in a seat with a seat belt. Talk about liability if that passenger gets hurt. Also, the attendant HAD a seat. Finally, how do you tie up a bathroom all flight. While the $2MM is excessive, the gist of the suit is certainly not.

I doubt that this actually happened. Its too fanciful. If it did, however, shame on the pilot and his crew.

The flight attendents are not assigned regular seats to sit on, they always use the booster seats. There are two sides to every story, so I am wondering if he was really an out of control passenger and this was the pilot's way of controling him.

I would like to hear from the other passangers on the plane (the witnesses). This seems like a bogus story to me.

Kokomo Joe wrote: Talk about frivilous! I don't consider it a frivilous lawsuit--if this occurred, the pilot broke federal regulations and laws. Unfortunately, you sometimes need to file a lawsuit to make the regulatory actually address something like this. Nor do I consider 2 million to be an outrageous amount. Nowadays, it's about the least you can find a lawyer to file a suit like this FOR--because the law firm needs its cut if the suit succeeds. We had a possible suit with (we estimated) about $30,000-50,000 worth of damages and even the ambulance chasers weren't interested in filing for that. The least the little guys were interested in filing for was about 500K and that basically meant they'd show up in court for us. (we didn't file the suit)

Assuming this is true it is wrong, period. If I were in this guys shoes I'd simply inform the pilot there are some magic words I could utter to really put a hamper into the punctuality of this flight. Use your imagination.

This is totally against FAA regulation forcing a passenger to sit on the toliet in a area where there is no seat belt. Flying free or not the airline MUST FOLLOW FAA RULES AND REGULATIONS. That PILOT SHOULD BE PUT ONLEAVE OR FIRED FOR THIS ACTION. The flight attendants must sit in the jump seats, when the flight is full that is THEIR SEAT. If this happened to me I would have refused and if the piloted threatened to have nme arrested , I would have complied, but once off the plane ran to the nearest JET BLUE agent/mananger reported this and to the FAA at the airport immdediately. THIS CANNOT HAPPEN

doesn't matter where the guy was. if there was no seat belt, that incident should cost the pilot his job. as for the $$, pde's comment sounds about right.

I truly doubt this happened. Other people would have had to have seen and/or heard the pilot telling him this. What moron agrees to this? If it did happen, he should have had the captain say what he was saying luder so the other passengers could here and explain to the captain that this is being done for the lawsuit. This just did not happen.
