For 38 years ATA the freedom bird, brought priceless memories to multitudes of travelers. Be if for business, vacation, or even the absence of a military deployment, our honestly different airline, could be counted upon to get you safely to an exotic once in a lifetime around the world adventure, or even a small Las Vegas or Florida weekend get away.

Today we mark and celebrate 38 years of making travel from our Indianapolis and Midwestern origins, easy to great places like California, New York, Dallas, or Chicago, and liberating the Hawaiian Islands and the Eastern Caribbean, from the vast distances they once appeared to air travel customers.

Here is to four decades of safe flying with ATA - American Trans Air, our customers, and our people, and to only pleasant holidays, vacations, and thoughts to all who may have been touched by our presence here.

I will agree with you, of all the airlines I've flown, ATA had the best customer service and I believe the best or certainly one of the best safety records. Still don't understand why they quit flying. All they had to do was raise everyones salary 20%, start spending like crazy on equipment, go on a massive hiring spree and then file for bankruptcy and reorganize. Strange.
