Hey, the Republic of Texas is history. It is the State of Texas. The Republic went broke and joined the union so we would bail them out! Either way, you live in Occupied Mexico so get over yourselves!
Typical Yankee. You obviously have not read your Texas history. We are a Republic and have always been one. Texas has no debt like the foreign country you yanks live in. We are the only state that can support its own population. I could go on,but Yanks are very easily confused so I will not.

Only question is whether Spirit would top United if list were based on rpm.

Once again, AWUP proves he's a wanna-be pilot. Maybe if he'd study for his GED between cleaning lavs he'd get somewhere.

eric, no need to be bitter if some Continental people displaced you. McDonald's and Burger King are hiring these days.

How is it that American Airlines isn't running away with this award? Late flights, Poor labor relations, Poor customer service, Bad aircraft maintenance, High prices etc. etc. ect.

Texas used to be a Republic and does have debt and Alaska may differ w/ you about being able to support its own population and Texans pull in 1.50 for every single buck they contribute to the Feds and in just a few very short years the Red State you cherish so much is going to have a huge influx of gays and hispanics and liberal coats aplenty..........can you spell Blue State? And if we, the union decided to allow you to leave our 'United States' your 'debt' load will be astronomical as we will want our Highway, School, Military, Space, Energy, Agriculture, Water monies returned to us in full. After you have paid off that debt we may make nice and trade w/ you. Mexican energy, shale, Gulf of Mexico all will be cheaper including what we will still be getting from the great state of Alaska. Vote to be quitters already. The threat is stale and ignorant.

Actually, I welcome Texas seceding from the Union. At least the next time I am in a foreign country and some loud, abusive, ignorant Texas shit kicker opens his big mouth offending everyone in hearing range, I can just say, "Hey, don't look at me, he's not an American, he's a Texan"

Yes, I am a typical Yankee. Well educated, well brought up and think of myself as an American, not the citizen of any one of the many States who, like Texas, were formerly some form of sovereign entity. California was formerly a republic and Virginia and others were commonwealths but they don't parade around acting like they are something just incredibly special! GET OVER IT, Texas is a STATE and at least for now, part of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. As far as History is concerned, I studied in States where the local red-necks did not censor the textbooks so I am sure the version I learned is different. I also learned other silly stuff like Physics and Astronomy and that the Earth was not created in 7 days.

IN FACT, Texas was quite eager to give up being a Republic and join the Union. They applied several times starting in 1837 because one, they were broke and two, they needed help fighting the Mexicans and didn't want to have their fannies kicked again. This is exactly why the US didn't want them. The government did not want a war with Mexico. They even adjusted the western border of the Louisiana Purchase to Sabine Pass so as not to anger the Mexicans. Finally, with the election of James Polk, Texas was admitted to the Union in 1844 and, as predicted, the Mexican - American war started 18 months later.

AAMech,

I have no idea why you felt compelled to respond to an obvious racist.

And BTW, HE is the minority at United. Most of us are decent human beings.

I miss Continental Too!

United was not a match for the super service Continental used to offer... period. I could tell you many horrible stories of my flights in United in 2012... to begin with, in Continental I had many chances of upgrading to first class even with the lowest frequent flyer level... On United, even with Gold level, I was not upgraded any single time in 2011-2012... United and its famous Alliance.... stinks!

United is like a washed-up alcoholic who married the pretty girl with the good credit score, namely, Continental. She had to take his name, but mama runs this house.
