To all of you SW people who told me I was full of it when I warned you that getting into the big boy game would case big boy problems, here you go, The first step. Trimming headcount, and blaming fuel costs for it's problems. Mayybe Gary was reading an old AA story out loud and it got reported in the media. Don't worry, you'll be on top for another 6-10 years. Wait till the concessionary union contracts start. Since everyone else that matters has now been BK, SW is now the high wage leader. It's coming, be ready. I'm not saying SW is going to have a BK in the next decade, but if you aren't 40 yet and want to make it a career, plan on an early retirement.

Ah yes...FX has the highest paid pilots in the world. One is reported to earn over $700k. Dozens over $500, so you can't cut pilot wages. You have to look somewhere else. Think about that next time you overpay to send a box.

And guess who was just offered the position of executive vp of labor relations? The person who will work the next round of union wages and benifits at Southwest. The same person caught drunk driving in Virginia, and was fired from the FAA, as it's administrator, the same person to hold the Airline Pilot Union (ALPA's) president position, the same person who was a career Eastern Airline Pilot... Randy Babbit!

Isn't that ironic that the former Pilot union president is going to screw the Southwest Airline employees, including the pilot's.

I work for SW ~and we way too TOP heavy. Vice president of Lav Dumps~ western region. Ridiculous the bloated growth that has occurred. And BTW--guess why Babbit's been hired? Stay tuned for hard ball fights between management and labor....not a pretty picture ahead.
