US Airways rejects pilots' proposal
US Airways Group Inc. rejected a request to begin talks on a separate contract with pilots who flew for the former America West Airlines before a 2005 merger.

They are working on unifying all the union contracts, mergers aren't easy:

US Airways is currently in negotiations for single contracts with the Air Line Pilots Association, the Association of Flight Attendants and the International Association of Machinists. Both sides are working very hard to reach agreements that meet the needs of our employees within the goal of sustaining US Airways’ financial security. |
