Scalpers for the Sky!

OK lets say all the airlines cut x amount of capacity and fly to xyz. Well if everyone left flys to xyz, because at the present that is where the money is, wouldn't price wars develop at xyz and eliminate the benefit of the plan. The same condition would exist and that is high fuel prices. So if air travel is such a necessity to our nations economy what is the governments plan "a' to save the airlines from total collapse? Because I hope there is another solution to these drastic capacity cuts otherwise the average guy, gal or family better get ready to take the car, bus or train because all the seats available will be taken and hard to find. I can see scalpers selling airline tickets now! Anyone got seats, got seats?

What you are suggesting is re-regulation.
That would stabilize the airlines and prevent them for charging less for a seat than it cost them to operate for a given seat. Personally, I am all for it. |
