MD 80's

A 320's

757's

All the above

Will Allegiant operate widebodies?

Does not seem very efficient!

Most likely -merging with Frontier or Spirit

Will Allegiant be able to make the transition to an efficient single fleet type again?

Or is it just NOT that important in this day an age for Allegiant's business model?

When you can buy instead of lease aircraft, the low cost of the used aircraft offsets any gains by more fuel efficient planes.
Their business model is only used by Allegiant, several weekly flights to leisure destinations from small cities. It seems to be working well for them at this point, however, it appears Frontier airlines is embarking on a similar flight schedule from small cities to Orlando to capture part of the mickey mouse crowd.
It remains to be seen if there is enough business to sustain both airlines since Allegiant seems bent on expansion as they have no plans to dump their MD-80's while adding over 20 airbuses.

Spirit - will need rebranding Frontier is an option for Spirit, but not a good one for Frontier.

Allegiant - cost efficiencies are being lost with a mixed fleet however good revenues of its travel core, are masking the inefficiencies. Could this turn Allegiant into a Direct Air fiasco probably not, but they many need to turn the planning of their aviation department over to someone like Frontier who is becoming increasingly efficient.

Allegiant Travel flight operated by Frontier Airlines or something.

Undeniable ones if their Hawaiian operations are any indication of their overall fleet
